With all due respect to Inter Milan, the biggest question ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final is whether Manchester City will win an ugly slog or run Inter off the pitch.
Inter Milan, which finished third in Serie A and reached the UCL final with wins over Benfica, Porto, and AC Milan, have not faced an opponent with City’s talent and depth all season. They have, however, finished their season strong, and their roster features no shortage of big-game experience.
In Gaming Today’s breakdown of Manchester City vs. Inter Milan odds, props, and predictions, we analyze whether the English Premier League side are susceptible to what would be one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history.

Manchester City Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
If City are at their best on Saturday, this contest will be out of reach shortly after halftime. Pep Guardiola’s side have not just beaten their toughest opponents over the last few months, they’ve blown them out, from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool to Champions League foes Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

City’s last three matches of the season were all close – and they dropped points in two of them. But that’s largely because those games (against Brighton on May 24 and Brentford on May 28) were meaningless, as City had already clinched the EPL title. Last weekend, they raised their second trophy of the season after they defeated Manchester United in the FA Cup Final.
ManU made that one interesting thanks to an equalizing PK in the 33rd minute by Bruno Fernandes, but it never felt like City were in serious danger of losing, as they went up 2-1 in the 51st and controlled the rest of the match. Still, that made it three consecutive games in which Man City’s opponent at least had a chance in the final minutes.
If Inter can keep it close into the late stages of the match, it will be fascinating to see whether City begin to panic, as a potential loss would not only mark their latest Champions League meltdown, it would deny them a historic treble. Given how dicey things could get down the stretch with so much to lose, City will likely take an aggressive approach from the opening whistle in pursuit of an early lead.
Injuries
City do not have any major injury concerns. Right back Kyle Walker missed one day of practice this week, but joked that it was just because he’s “getting old.”
Inter Milan Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
Inter Milan are one of the bigger underdogs in the history of the Champions League final, but it’s not as if they lack talent or experience. They’ve also been outstanding in tournament play. They finished third in Serie A this season, but won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa, giving them back-to-back titles in both those competitions.
Inter have three dangerous veteran forwards led by Lautaro Martinez. By the end of the match, it’s likely City will have had to deal with Martinez, Romelu Lukaku, and Edin Dzeko (and possibly Joaquin Correa as well), as manager Simone Inzaghi typically makes at least one forward substitution in every match.
Inter also boasts several dangerous midfielders that will test City stars Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, and Rodri. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and Denzel Dumfries all contribute to the Inter attack, while Marcelo Brozovic is a solid holding midfielder protecting Inter’s back line.
The biggest x-factor for Inter Milan is keeper Andre Onana. He’s been lights-out throughout Champions League knockout play, recording shutouts in five of Inter’s six matches over the two-legged round of 16, quarterfinals, and semifinal ties. We saw last year – when Thibaut Courtois led Real Madrid past Liverpool – how impactful a dominant keeper can be in a 90-minute contest to decide a cup.
Inter cannot match City’s firepower, but they’re in form (they’ve won 11 of their last 12) and they have a keeper capable of keeping them in it, no matter how many opportunities City create.
Injuries
Inter will not be missing any of their top players, but Mkhitaryan (34 years old) and center back Milan Skriniar (28) have both dealt with injuries the last few months. How those players are able to perform will have a huge impact on Inter’s chances at the upset.

Man City vs. Inter Milan Prediction: Man City 2, Inter Milan 0
Champions League history– especially City’s own track record – has shown us that anything can happen, especially in a 90-minute contest to decide who raises the trophy.
But while it’s tempting (especially given the payout on an Inter victory) to make a case for Inter to at least keep this match close, City are an unstoppable machine. It also helps that they’re fresh after clinching the Premier League in early May. This close to the only trophy that has eluded Guardiola since he arrived in Manchester – and an EPL, FA Cup and Champions League treble – expect the best version of City on Saturday.
Unfortunately, if that’s what Inter are up against, it won’t matter how well they play.
