Manchester City hosts one of the top challengers to its quest for yet another Premier League title, Liverpool, in one of the biggest matches of the season in English soccer on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Eastern.
Through 12 games, City (28 points) have a narrow lead atop the EPL, with Liverpool (27), Arsenal (27), and Tottenham (26) right on the heels of Pep Guardiola’s team.
City are coming a wild 4-4 draw against Chelsea in their last match, which they entered on a five-game winning streak in all competitions. Liverpool have not lost in the Premier League since Matchday 7 on Sept. 30, but they’ve had two draws in their last five league matches.

Manchester City vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Based on the table, Liverpool is one of several teams in the Premier League with a chance to raise the trophy this season.
Oddsmakers, however, see Liverpool and Arsenal as the only legitimate challengers to City .
Liverpool could make a massive statement with a win, or even a draw, on the road at the Etihad on Saturday, though. Neither of these teams is at full strength going into Saturday’s big match. Star Erling Haaland is among several key players for City who are questionable or unavailable. Liverpool have ruled out Thiago, Andy Robertson and Stefan Bajcetic.

Two other markets worth checking out are “first team to score” and First Half Over/Under, which is set at .
City are the heavy favorite to score first in this one. While they have plenty of firepower besides Haaland, Liverpool are tempting here given that City are not only missing their top scorer but also could be without defender Nathan Ake and keeper Ederson for Saturday’s match.
Manchester United vs Manchester City Player Props
The goalscorer markets for this game are interesting given the possibility that Haaland will be limited. If he’s unable to play, Julian Alvarez is outstanding value at nearly 2-to-1. With City’s injury issues — in addition to Ake and Ederson being questionable, they’re also without John Stones for Saturday — Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez both offer good value at longer than 2-to-1.
In what should be a back-and-forth match between two of the best-attacking teams in Europe, there are plenty of worthwhile goalscorer props to consider.
Manchester City vs Liverpool Analysis and Prediction
City have won 23 games in a row at home across all competitions in the last few seasons. That makes it bold to suggest betting against them. But the health issues plaguing City all over the pitch — from uncertainty around Haaland up top to injuries in the midfield to Stones, Mateo Kovacic, and Kevin de Bruyne to questions around Ake and Ederson — make Liverpool a tempting long shot. Taking the Reds to win outright at the Etihad feels like a massive swing (especially given their own injuries), but fortunately, markets like Double Chance offer great value at less of a risk.
This also promises to feature plenty of goals. Over 3.5 at only +120 rarely screams “value,” but Saturday’s match is a case where that number deserves a close look. These teams met four times in ’22-23 (twice in the EPL as well as in the Community Shield and EFL Cup), and the total exceeded four goals in three of those meetings. That is all the more reason to like the Over on Saturday.
