With 48 games taking place between Thursday and Sunday as the 2022 NCAA Tournament gets rolling, bettors have plenty of opportunities to get in on some March Madness action at their favorite sportsbooks. The betting goes beyond picking winners of individual games, as sportsbooks offer betting odds on a wide range of March Madness Tournament props, too.
Not sure who’s going to win it all, but feel confident about who will come out of the West region? Think Michigan will make it further than Michigan State? How about the exact number of No. 1 seeds to make the Final Four? These are just a few of the many prop bets sportsbooks are dealing.
2022 March Madness Props
Each state has its own approach to betting on college sports, including events like March Madness. Some states prohibit gambling on in-state teams, college player props, and/or in-game markets. Check out this article to see if your state has such restrictions.
The following are some of our favorite March Madness tournament prop bets:
West Region Winner: Gonzaga -140 (Caesars)
Let’s get started with an easy one. The Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the nation for a reason, and it will likely become apparent to their haters over the next couple of weeks. Of course, it helps that the competition level in their region is relatively easy. Duke has a shot to win the West, and maybe Texas Tech. But it would be surprising if anyone in this region eliminates the Bulldogs.
Midwest Region Winner: Wisconsin +1400 (DraftKings)
This is somewhat of a bold take, but Kansas’s Big 12 Tournament run was misleading. Yes, beating Texas and Texas Tech looks nice, but struggling against TCU in the regular season does not. Elsewhere in the Midwest bracket, it is hard to have faith in Auburn after watching the Tigers get eliminated in the SEC Tournament by Texas A&M. Iowa is a solid team, but Wisconsin appears to be a better one.
To Make The Elite Eight: Wisconsin +500 (DraftKings)
The Badgers’ biggest challenge will come from Auburn, USC, or Miami in the Sweet 16 — all winnable matchups.
Team To Advance Furthest in NCAA Tournament: UCLA +500 (DraftKings)
This prop at DraftKings asks bettors to pick which team will go furthest in the tournament among a group of four: Kansas (+170), Villanova (+250), Duke (+250), or UCLA (+500). I am not a Kansas fan, but I can see Villanova, Duke, and UCLA making it to the Sweet 16. Between the three, the Bruins have the easiest potential matchup — and by far the longest odds.
Total Big Ten Teams to Advance to the Round of 32: Under 6.5 -167 (BetRivers)
Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, and Illinois will probably not have too much trouble in the first round, and don’t be shocked if Indiana upsets Saint Mary’s. However, I am not too confident in Ohio State and Michigan.
Total Tournament Wins: UCLA Over 2.5 +160
The Bruins should beat Akron in the first round and will likely take down Indiana in the second. However, they will face a challenge against Baylor in the Sweet 16. But history does not favor defending champions making deep runs, making this a likely exit spot for the Bears.
Team To Advance Further: Arizona +205 over Gonzaga -240 (Circa)
Both will likely make the Final Four, but I like the Wildcats to beat their opponent in New Orleans more than the Bulldogs.
