Let’s us start off taking a little look at some of the biggest moves last week in the NFL Preseason Week 1 games.

On Thursday the Ravens, who this bettor liked, opened up as a 1-point favorite over the Panthers. The game moved to Ravens -2.5 and then the late money came on the Panthers -1. The Ravens win, 22-19.

There was also some money for the Pats who moved from -3 to -4 and beat the Saints, 34-22.

On Friday, money showed for the Dolphins who went from +3 to +2 and they beat the Giants, 27-10.

One of the bigger moves came on the Vikings vs. the Bengals. Cincy opened -3 points and the line dropped to -1. The money got the money as the Vikes won, 17-16.

On Saturday there was a big move on the Chiefs who were bet up from -1 to -3.5 vs. the Seahawks. The move took a bad beat as the Hawks won on the last play, 17-16, and the books got the money.

Also on Saturday there was a big move on the new Los Angeles Rams who were bet from -3.5 to -6. The Rams won, 28-24. I would say the books either won a little or a lot on this game.

So as I see it the big moves were a push or a small loser. We will keep you posted each and every week, especially on parlay card big moves during the season. We move on to Week 2 and see if we can find a few betting gems.

Thursday, Aug. 18

Bengals at LIONS: In a nice trend we see the Lions have gone a perfect 6-0 ATS at home the last six times in preseason when coming off a double digit win. They beat the Steelers last week, 30-17.

Vikings at SEAHAWKS: Seattle has gone a perfect 4-0 ATS the last four years in Week 2 preseason games.

Friday, Aug. 19

JETS at Redskins: The Jets have gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven Week 2 preseason games and a perfect 6-0 ATS on the road when coming off a double digit win. They beat the Jaguars last week, 17-13.

DOLPHINS at Cowboys: The patchless Cowpokes have gone 0-6 ATS in their last six Week 2 preseason games. On the other end, the Fish are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 Week 2’s.

Saturday, Aug. 20

PANTHERS at Titans: If Carolina is a dog in this game they have gone 5-1 in that role against teams coming off a double digit win. The Titans beat San Diego last week, 27-10.

GIANTS at Bills: The Giants did not look very good last week, but we will give them one more chance. Bills have gone 2-8 ATS at home in preseason when playing a team coming off a double digit loss. G-men were crushed last week, 27-10.

RAVENS at Colts: The Blackbirds travel to Indy and I just hate to lose any game “Harbaugh.” Baltimore has gone 7-2 ATS away when .500 or higher in preseason.

Bucs at Jaguars: Tampa Bay was getting nine points vs. the Eagles, with the Jags going UNDER the total. That adds up to UNDER in 9 of 10 preseason games. We will be betting UNDER again in this lack luster matchup.

SAINTS at Texans: Houston has gone a perfect 0-5 ATS in preseason coming off a double digit win. They beat the 49ers Sunday night, 24-13, and play a team coming off a loss. The Saints fell to the Pats, 34-22. We will take the points with the Saints.

Chiefs at RAMS: In one of the biggest, if not the biggest, trends in preseason the Chiefs have gone 0-13 in Week 2 preseason. Even Andy Reid, in his fourth season at KC, could not derail this trend. We will be betting the Rams to get their second straight win as the LA version.

Racing news: The Breeders’ Cup is right around the corner and if you are like me and don’t enjoy the big crowds at the racebooks on those kind of days, well, the answer is here. Boyd Gaming now offers a betting app for your phone or tablet. You can sit in your easy chair at home, no crowds, watch the big screen TV, bet right into the pools and not get shut out with the big lines. Just stop over at one of the Boyd racebooks and check it out.

I will be heading to Del Mar this week but will be back Monday to do my column. If you get my horses online, this Saturday and Sunday the picks will come from the Track Phantom so don’t miss any of his long shot specials.

Del Mar, here we come. We could be walking around lucky and not even know it.
