After last week’s 3-0 win over CF Montreal, Philadelphia now has an unbeaten streak of nine consecutive matches in league play. The team has now tied their all-time consecutive unbeaten record that they accomplished last season. On top of this incredible mid-season run, Head Coach Jim Curtin has never lost to the Earthquakes, recording four wins and three draws.
Philadelphia is sitting third in the East and their unbeaten streak speaks for itself. Leading the team on offense is Julián Carranza. The Argentinian has recorded nine goals and three assists on the season, two of these goals were scored in Wednesday’s win over Montreal. This was Carranza’s third brace of the season, proving he can contribute on offense through the whole 90 minutes.
While San Jose has their work cut out for them, the club has continuously proven itself in the West. The Earthquakes are unbeaten in their last three games and have won six out of their last 10 home games, including three draws and one loss. The club has risen to fifth in the West in a short time and will be sure to put up a fight against the Union.
Our player to watch for the Earthquakes is Cristian Espinoza with eight goals and five assists. The Argentina native has been a key factor in boosting the performance on offense. On the defensive end, goal keeper Daniel, has recorded clean sheets in his last two matches. Daniel had five saves last time out against Colorado and 20 saves total this season.

While these two teams are both strong competitors in their individual conferences, Philadelphia’s track record could have them coming out on top this weekend. It will be a high-scoring game with both teams proving they are capable of scoring goals in their last few matches out.
Prediction: Philadelphia 2-1 | Over 2.5 goals
