Now that it’s football season, I like to check out different bars that have good food as well as being a team bar.

The beauty of living in a transient city like Las Vegas is there are so many different sports bars that cater to fans of certain teams. This week, I went to Mr. D’s, located at 1810 S. Rainbow Blvd. Mr. D’s is a Dallas Cowboys bar for the fans of America’s team.

Mr. D’s is your typical Las Vegas sports bar & grill as they have video poker machines at the bar along with TV’s throughout, so no matter which way you are facing you have a game to look at. For me, I need good food because I’m going to be here for a while watching games. It is almost mandatory for me to have a plate of chicken wings in front of me when watching games.

Mr. D’s has wings and they are good. The wings are good size, and you get 10 for $7.99. They have 10 different sauces to choose from. The wings are cooked just the way I like them — crispy and the sauces are great. They also have a dry rub seasoning which I like a lot. I switch back and forth between the dry rub and one of their Buffalo sauces. You can add a basket of fries for just $2.99.

In addition to the great wings, there are several sandwiches on the menu. My favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak which is loaded with Top Round of beef, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and cheese on a hoagie roll. The Mr. D Club sandwich along with the Reuben and burgers are all good choices as well.

There’s no lack of beverage choices either as Mr. D’s has plenty of beer selections.

It’s not just NFL games and the Cowboys that draw customers. Mr. D’s has plenty of different entertainment options as well throughout the week. They have karaoke nights, live entertainment monthly and Biker nights weekly. If you’re watching the games and the scores aren’t going the way you want, you can check out the waitresses’ attire as it will be sure to put a smile on your face. They also have an outside patio area where you can enjoy a cold brew.

If I have one complaint it would be that the bar can get smoky when busy as it seems the ventilation doesn’t draw all the smoke out. But that’s my only issue.

Whether you are a Dallas Cowboy fan or not, Mr. D’s is a great place to watch the games and have some good food. I give Mr. D’s a Rating of 3.50 Forks.
