Ben Simmons Over Rebounds + Assists

In his first game of the season, Ben Simmons made only two shots on six attempts, but at this point in his career, it is safe to say that Simmons is not someone who will be scoring 15-20 points per game anymore. It is hard to believe that Simmons went from one of the better playmakers in the league to a bench player for a mediocre Nets team.

However, he had a strong preseason, especially on the defensive side of the court, which shows that he can still be a serviceable player in the NBA. While he did not do much scoring in the loss to Cleveland, he added 10 rebounds and nine assists, which would easily push him past this number.

In only 23 minutes, Simmons also was second on the team in rebound opportunities, and he had the ball in his hands a lot, which led to many assist opportunities as well. Obviously, there is a chance he does not get the touches in this game. Still, Brooklyn gave Cleveland a fight to the very end, and they have a bit of an easier matchup against a Dallas defense that looked very vulnerable against San Antonio.

The Mavericks gave up 33 assists in the win over the Spurs, and it appears that this team will still be chucking up a bunch of shots, which gives the Nets more rebound chances. They are pretty good at defending the paint and grabbing offensive boards, but Simmons has always been a great rebounder. If Dallas’ first game indicates how the defense will fare this season, Simmons should have enough assists to pair with his rebounding numbers to surpass this number.

Jaylen Brown Over Points

Even though Jaylen Brown signed a massive $300 million extension in the offseason, he is not doing himself any favors in the eyes of the Celtic faithful. After a pretty brutal playoff run last year, especially in the ECF, the question became: can the Celtics win with Brown as its second-best player?

Well, Boston decided not to wait for that answer, as they acquired Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday in the offseason. Both players looked excellent in the first game of the season, especially Porzingis, who set a franchise record for most points in a Celtics debut (30), besting Dominique Wilkins, who I just found out played for the Celtics during the TV broadcast of Celtics vs. Knicks.

Anyway, Brown had another rough night, putting up 11 points on only 4-of-11 shooting from the field. He also had a couple of brutal stretches where he kept turning the ball over and taking terrible shots.

Luckily, Brown should have an easier time against the Heat tonight. Although Miami is a great defensive team, Brown will likely avoid Jimmy Butler, as his attention will be solely on Jayson Tatum. That leaves Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, or Kyle Lowry, none of whom are very good defenders.

Brown is too good of a player to have just suddenly lost the ability to make shots on offense, and tonight is a good one to back him scoring 20+ points.

NBA Player Props Parlay Odds

If you want a bet with a higher payout, we advise you to parlay our two NBA player props from tonight. The odds for each player prop will depend on the sports betting app.

At DraftKings Sportsbook, you can get multiple NBA betting promos, including a 50% profit boost that can be used on any NBA betting market tonight or an SGP/SGP+ insurance token, which will protect your prop parlay up to a certain amount.

  1. Ben Simmons – Over 12.5 Rebounds + Assists (-160)
  2. Jaylen Brown – Over 20.5 Points (-105)

As you can see, DraftKings has a different line for Brown’s scoring prop than the one we gave out at 19.5 points. This is why it is so crucial to check out each sportsbook so you can get the best odds and lines for your picks. This parlay will give you +217 odds, and with a 50% profit boost, you get +325 odds.

Odds are subject to change.
