Tonight is the first night that there has not been a single football game since Oct. 3, which means the NBA will take center stage in the sports world. Luckily, there are 14 terrific games to watch, including an NBA on ESPN doubleheader. Thanks to our friends at PrizePicks, you can place a few wagers on any NBA game of your choosing.
All you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the action. If you are looking to make tonight’s slate even better, we advise you to check out our two best NBA PrizePicks.
Joel Embiid LESS Than 29.5 Points
The reigning league MVP is once again putting up monster numbers, averaging 31.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. However, his shooting percentages are significantly down, as he only makes 49.7% of his shots on 21.3 attempts per game.
At the end of the day, his play translates to successful offensive trips, but he is not doing it as efficiently as last season or the year before. Over his last three games, Joel Embiid is putting up 32 points per game, but he is only shooting 46.9% from the field.
The 76ers are coming off a tough In-Season Tournament loss to the Cavaliers last night and now have to fly to Minnesota to take on a tough Timberwolves defense, especially down low with Rudy Gobert. After a down-defensive season last year, Gobert is back playing at the three-time DPOY-level reputation that he has earned. He leads a top-ranked Minnesota defense that is second in scoring (106.3) and third in points in the paint.
Last night, Embiid played 41 minutes in a tight game, which showed towards the end. He had trouble keeping up in the fourth quarter, and as the game reached crunch time, the Cavaliers could do whatever they wanted in the paint.
Coming off such a challenging game, look for Embiid to struggle against a physical Timberwolves defense and go under his scoring number tonight.
Jaylen Brown MORE Than 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
The NBA’s first $300 million man is not producing at the level he has in the past but is still playing some really good basketball this season. Through 13 games, Jaylen Brown is averaging 21.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
Obviously, if those numbers hold up tonight, he will not go over his listed PRA, but this is an excellent spot to back not only Brown to have a big night but also the Celtics as a whole. Boston is fresh off a brutal loss to the Hornets on Monday, and it was a game that Brown would probably like to forget.
In 24 minutes, Brown put up only 13 points, three assists, and four rebounds on 29.4% shooting from the field. One would think a player as talented as Brown would be able to quickly shake off a bad performance like that, but if you take a look at his previous game, it is not much better. On Sunday, Brown scored 12 points on only 31.3% shooting from the field.
However, those two games were on the road, where Brown typically struggles. That is not uncommon, but Brown shoots a much higher percentage at home, as he is averaging 24.4 points per game in five games played at TD Garden.
At PrizePicks, Brown’s points prop is a little too rich for my liking, so we will also bet on him to rack up the assists and rebounds as well. While Milwaukee is a tough team to beat on any given night, their defense is not very good, and they give up a ton of shot attempts, especially from deep.
The Bucks are good enough to keep up with the Celtics, giving Brown plenty of chances to go well over this number.
NBA PrizePicks Odds
Before submitting your NBA PrizePicks for tonight, you have two options:
- Power Play: Get a 5x payout on your initial wager if all three picks hit.
- Flex Play: Gives you protection on your PrizePicks.
The power play option turns your NBA PrizePicks into a simple prop parlay. Our two NBA PrizePicks give us a 3x payout if both bets win. For example, a $100 wager would return $300 in winnings if both our PrizePicks are winners.
For Flex Play, it gives you insurance on your PrizePicks but reduces your payout. If you choose Flex play, and all your picks win, you will get a 2x payout, but if only one pick hits, you will get a 0.5x payout.
However, if you add more picks, your payout will increase. For example, a four-pick slip gives you a 10x payout with the power play option, while flex play gives you a 1.5x payout for three out of four picks and a 5x payout for all four picks hitting.
