D’Angelo Russell MORE Than 5.5 Assists
It is pretty clear that D’Angelo Russell‘s days of being a top-scoring option are past him. While he still puts up 16.7 points per game, he does not constantly put together many great offensive performances. He still shoots the ball well from deep, but when you are on the same team as LeBron James and Anthony Davis, you don’t need to be the team’s primary scorer.
Since being traded back to the Lakers, Russell has taken fewer shots per game and is dishing the ball more. He is averaging 6.2 assists per game, and he has exceeded this number five times in his last 10 games. Russell has four games with exactly five assists during that stretch, so he easily approaches this number every night.
Tonight, the Lakers will take on the Detroit Pistons, who are quite possibly the worst team in professional sports right now. Through 17 games, the Pistons have two wins, rank 22nd in points allowed per game, and allow 25 assists per game.
The possibility of Los Angeles simply overwhelming Detroit from the jump is there, especially since the Lakers are coming off a 44-point loss to the 76ers. Russell and the rest of the starters may not play as much if that happens.
However, the blowout loss to Philadelphia was the biggest in LeBron’s career, and you could tell from the postgame media scrum LeBron and the Lakers were pissed. I expect Los Angeles to come out firing and for them to let off some steam against a brutally bad Pistons squad.
As long as LeBron and the rest of the starters get their minutes, Russell should fly over this assist prop.
Keyonte George FEWER Than 15.5 Points
The rookie out of Baylor is having a solid first season with Utah. While he is only shooting 35.8% from the floor, he is still putting up just a tick under 10 points per game and knocking down a respectful 33% of his three-point shots.
Five of his 8.7 shots per game come from beyond the arc, and he has been hot recently, shooting 43.5% from deep over his last three games. While he has had a few 15+ scoring nights outside of this stretch, he is playing well above his true production level, so some slight regression may be on the way for Keyonte George.
That regression possibly could come tonight, as the Grizzlies have one of the best defenses against guard play. While Memphis has struggled to defend the three-point line, George did not fare well in his previous game against the Grizzlies, shooting only 1-of-6 from three.
Memphis is dealing with some injuries, which could favor the Utah guards, but in his short career, George has not consistently put together positive scoring nights. His splits on the road are also much worse, as he shoots 28.2% from deep and 30.4% from the field.
Although he is playing really well right now, this is an excellent spot to fade George with a high-point total.
NBA PrizePicks Odds
Before submitting your NBA PrizePicks for tonight, you have two options:
- Power Play: Get a 5x payout on your initial wager if all three picks hit.
- Flex Play: Gives you protection on your PrizePicks.
The power play option turns your NBA PrizePicks into a simple prop parlay. Our two NBA PrizePicks give us a 3x payout if both bets win. For example, a $100 wager would return $300 in winnings if both our PrizePicks are winners.
For Flex Play, it gives you insurance on your PrizePicks but reduces your payout. If you choose Flex play, and all your picks win, you will get a 2x payout, but if only one pick hits, you will get a 0.5x payout.
However, if you add more picks, your payout will increase. For example, a four-pick slip gives you a 10x payout with the power play option, while flex play gives you a 1.5x payout for three out of four picks and a 5x payout for all four picks hitting.
Number of Picks Flex Play Payout Multiplier Power Play Payout Multiplier
