Las Vegas recently got a new breakfast and lunch place as Neighbors Café opened at 5910 South Fort Apache Road. The wife and I stopped in to try out the new place and even though they had only been open for a couple of weeks it was extremely busy and running like a finely tuned machine.

The concept is a little different as you step to the counter to order and then the staff will bring your order to you when it’s ready. It really makes for a very efficient system. On this visit we went with a late breakfast. My wife ordered their Coconut Pancakes with wild berry lemon syrup, toasted coconut flakes and honey whipped butter. I was lucky enough to get a bite to taste, as that’s all Lori was willing to give up, and these pancakes were amazing.

I went with the dish called Old School, which was two farm eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, smashed potatoes and toast. This was a nice hearty meal and the smashed potatoes were very tasty. The dish also had a side of greens. I’m not exactly sure why they added greens but I can tell you the dressing that was on the greens will have me coming back for a salad just to get that dressing.

If you are hungry they have a Steak n Eggs that comes with an 8 ounce rib eye. For those with a hearty appetite or who want something to eat with one hand on the run, pick up their Hearty Breakfast Burrito.

The table next to us was a family of four and they all got hamburgers. I can tell you, from the look and smell of those burgers I will be back soon for a lunch time burger. All the burgers come with fries, sweet potato fries or a side of greens. You really can’t go wrong with any of those choices.

One of the sandwiches on the menu is the B.L.A.T.C., which is bacon, arugula, avocado, heirloom tomato, grilled chicken and pesto aioli all on sourdough bread.

As good as the food is at Neighbors the real stars might be the coffee drinks. They have a line-up that would make any specialty coffee house proud, including espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, matcha and lattes.

They have custom flavors like almond, hazelnut, caramel lavender and Queen Bee lattes. My wife ordered the Queen Bee. From the fancy design floating a top her cup to the fantastic taste, this was a great coffee drink or as my wife put it – one of the best latte drinks she’s ever had.

For those of you with a sweet tooth they have a complete selection of muffins, cookies and other sweets. This is great place to meet up with a friend and have a great coffee drink and something for the sweet tooth.

I love finding new small places that open up in the Las Vegas valley and this one is a gem. Based on how busy they were already and how good the food was I expect them to get even busier. I give Neighbors Café 3.75 Forks out of 4.
