The NFL wrapped up week 1 and after some surprising results, the NFL MVP odds have shifted. Sportsbooks such as Caesars and BetMGM have recently updated their MVP odds and some players made some major jumps to the top.

Patrick Mahomes is of course still the favorite at +450 by Caesars. Tom Brady comes in second at +1000, but now he has to share second place after a stellar performance by Kyler Murray on Sunday against the Titans. Murray had the 10th-lowest odds and now is tied at second with the GOAT.

Top 3 MVP Odds Changes

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback is just one of a few quarterbacks whose odds have changed after their week 1 performance.

Murray saw the biggest jump, starting the season at +2500 and now coming in at +1000. The Cardinals dominated the Titans and a lot had to do with Murray’s five touchdowns in the game.

Matt Stafford has a new home with the Los Angeles Rams and he proved to fit right in after defeating the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. Stafford threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns. He started off the season at +2000 at sportsbook apps such as BetMGM and now the Rams quarterback is at +1300 to win MVP.

Jameis Winston surprised the whole country in the Saints win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Filling Drew Brees’ footsteps just fine, Winston finished the game with five touchdowns. Sportsbooks had Winston at +4000 to win MVP before week 1 and now he sits at +2500.

Honorable Mention: MVP Odds Go In The Wrong Direction

Not every quarterback had a successful first week 1. Aaron Rodgers was at +1100 to win MVP until his awful performance in Green Bay’s loss to the New Orleans Saints. After Rodgers threw two interceptions and NO touchdowns, his chances of winning MVP dropped to +1800.

There is a lot of the season left, with 16 games still to go, but the first week of the NFL always gives us a good idea of which players are going to shine this year and are likely to take home the NFL MVP award at the end of the season.
