What to Know About 2023 NFL Holiday Games

The NFL is committed to having more games played on holidays, and Wednesday’s announcement features three marquee matchups staged separately on Black Friday, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Aaron Rodgers continues his Hall of Fame career with the Jets, who finished last in the AFC East with a record of 7-10 last year. If oft-injured (and concussed) Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy in 2023, the Dolphins can contend for the AFC East division title after finishing runner-up to the Bills last season.

New York is +1400 on BetMGM’s Super Bowl oddsboard after the addition of Rodgers. The Dolphins are +3000 as of Wednesday.

QB Daniel Jones inked a new four-year deal with the Giants back in March. As mentioned, Jalen Hurts became the league’s highest-paid player with a five-year, $250 million contract with nearly $180 million guaranteed.

The Eagles, who swept the Giants last season, are the second betting favorite (+800) to win Super Bowl 58 at DraftKings. The Giants check in at +5000.

Chiefs-Bengals is fast becoming one of the NFL’s best rivalries. Top-seeded Kansas City defeated Cincinnati 23-20 in last season’s AFC Championship Game. It marked the first time that Joe Burrow lost against the Chiefs. Burrow is 3-1 vs. Patrick Mahomes in his career.

Burrow was sacked an NFL-high 51 times in 2021, and that number decreased to 41 last season. The Bengals made an important offseason acquisition with the signing of OT Orlando Brown, a four-time Pro Bowler who’s expected to give Burrow extra protection in 2023.

BetMGM is dealing the Chiefs as the +600 Super Bowl favorite as of Wednesday. The Bengals are available at +900.
