Thursday, Aug. 10

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Texans -2.5
  • Total: O/U 38.5
  • Moneyline: Texans (-135) | Patriots (+115)

The NFL debut of the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, CJ Stroud, will headline this Thursday night matchup. While Houston will look to open up the playbook more with Stroud taking the snaps, both teams rely on short and efficient plays and physical defenses. Look for this game to be a low-scoring dogfight.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks (10 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Seahawks -4.5
  • Total: O/U 35.5
  • Moneyline: Vikings (+160) | Seahawks (-190)

Two NFC playoff teams from 2022 will meet for a late-night showdown. Both teams have a lot of explosive players on the offensive side of the ball, especially in Minnesota’s receiver room, which they improved via the draft with Jordan Addison. Each defense also has some questions, so look for a lot of big plays and short drives.

Friday, Aug. 11

New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions (7 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Giants -3
  • Total: O/U 36.5
  • Moneyline: Giants (-160) | Lions (+135)

Two surprise teams from last season look to build off their great years in the opening preseason game. While Detroit was able to lean on a great offense last season, the defense is the side to watch in this game, as they have really disrupted Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones during joint practices this week.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Bucs -1
  • Total: O/U 39.5
  • Moneyline: Steelers (+100) | Bucs (-120)

Although the quarterback position is shaky on both sides, Pittsburgh at least has its Week 1 starter in Kenny Pickett, who was fine in his rookie season. On the other side, Tampa Bay is in the middle of a quarterback battle between Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask. For this game, Pittsburgh has seen plenty of Mayfield from his days with the Browns, and they should jump on him early.

Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Packers -4.5
  • Total: O/U 35.5
  • Moneyline: Packers (-200) | Bengals (+170)

The Cincinnati Bengals lost Joe Burrow for an undisclosed amount of time with a calf strain early in camp, which means we may see Zac Taylor be very cautious this entire preseason. Meanwhile, the Packers are breaking in a new quarterback for the first time since 2008, with Jordan Love taking over for Aaron Rodgers.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Miami Dolphins (7 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Falcons -2.5
  • Total: O/U 36
  • Moneyline: Falcons (-135) | Dolphins (+115)

The Atlanta Falcons are rebuilding and again have to insert a new starting quarterback. However, they play in a weak NFC South, and with first-round pick Bijan Robinson joining a talented skill room, this team can compete this season if either Desmond Ridder or Taylor Heinicke is serviceable.

The NFL debut of the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, CJ Stroud, will headline this Thursday night matchup.

Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Browns (7:30 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Browns -3
  • Total: O/U 38.5
  • Moneyline: Commanders (+130) | Browns (-155)

The Cleveland Browns won the first preseason game of the season in their backyard at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We did not see much from Cleveland starters and likely will not see much more again this week.

Denver Broncos vs. Arizona Cardinals (10 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Broncos -5.5
  • Total: O/U 37.5
  • Moneyline: Broncos (-240) | Cardinals (+200)

Denver was the most disappointing team in the NFL last season, but new head coach Sean Payton has brought new life to this team. The excitement around him and the second year of Russell Wilson has this team thinking they can compete this season.

Saturday, Aug. 12

Indianapolis Colts vs. Buffalo Bills (1 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Colts -5
  • Total: O/U 39.5
  • Moneyline: Colts (-210) | Bills (+175)

This game will feature one of the top quarterbacks drafted, Anthony Richardson. While there are a lot of concerns with his play, he has all the traits to be one of the most exciting players in the NFL, and this will be the first chance he has to showcase his talent.

Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears (1 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Bears -3
  • Total: O/U 37
  • Moneyline: Titans (+150) | Bears (-175)

Tennesse had a disappointing season last year, losing a defacto AFC South Championship game against the Jaguars last season and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018. However, after signing DeAndre Hopkins and adding Will Levis via the draft, the Titans clearly want to shake things up and reclaim its throne at the top of the AFC South.

New York Jets vs. Carolina Panthers (4 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Panthers -3.5
  • Total: O/U 37.5
  • Moneyline: Jets (+150) | Panthers (-175)

New York is the talk of the football world, and for the first time in a while, we are talking about the New York Jets. After acquiring Aaron Rodgers, this team, which took tremendous strides last season, is primed for a run to the Super Bowl. We will not see many of the stars on this team in the preseason, but you can watch how deep and talented this roster is.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Dallas Cowboys (5 p.m. ET)

  • Spread: Jaguars -4
  • Total: O/U 37
  • Moneyline: Jaguars (-180) | Cowboys (+155)

The Jacksonville Jaguars stunned everybody when they overcame a 1-6 start to the season and won the AFC South. They also had the Kansas City Chiefs on the ropes in the AFC Divisional round, giving this team a lot of hope entering this season, especially with Trevor Lawrence looking like the franchise quarterback that was promised.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Ravens -6
  • Total: O/U 35.5
  • Moneyline: Eagles (+210) | Ravens (-250)

The Ravens are giving the most points for Week 1 of the preseason because of their dominance in these games. They have won an incredible 23-straight preseason games, with their last loss coming in 2015. Now, the Eagles are a deep and talented team, but the Ravens have built such an incredible culture that these games matter a lot to the players trying to make the team and the organization as a whole.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Los Angeles Rams (9 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Rams -3
  • Total: O/U 33.5
  • Moneyline: Chargers (+135) | Rams (-160)

The battle of Los Angeles will take place on Saturday night as the Chargers and Rams will face off at SoFi Stadium. These teams are 1-1 against each other since they both moved to Los Angeles and while it is still just a preseason game, this should be an intense and hard-fought game.

Sunday, Aug. 13

Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints (1 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: Saints -3
  • Total: O/U 37.5
  • Moneyline: Chiefs (+145) | Saints (-170)

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will open the preseason in New Orleans against the Saints. At this point, we should not expect much from Kansas City’s starters throughout the preseason as they rest up for the opening Thursday night matchup against the Lions.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Las Vegas Raiders (4 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

  • Spread: 49ers -4
  • Total: O/U 35.5
  • Moneyline: 49ers (-180) | Raiders (+155)

The San Francisco 49ers are one of the few teams in recent memory that have been able to win many games and be Super Bowl contenders without elite quarterback play. This year is no different, but with a quarterback room featuring Brock Purdy, Sam Darnold, and Trey Lance, they may be one of the best preseason teams this season.
