NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds: Betting Odds for Each Matchup

The NFL preseason continues this week, and bettors can now place wagers on the NFL Preseason Week 2 odds.

Each team has officially played its first preseason game, giving fans a first look at their favorite teams. From now until Aug. 27, preseason games will occur from Thursday to Sunday each week, including a few nationally televised games.

Betting on the preseason is difficult because you don’t know which players will play and for how long, but this serves as a good warm-up leading up to the regular season. Here, we will list the Week 2 preseason odds for each game.

Thursday, Aug. 17

Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Eagles -2.5
• Total: O/U 37.5
• Moneyline: Browns (+110) | Eagles (-130)

The Cleveland Browns kicked off the preseason with a victory at the Hall of Fame game. They fell to the Commanders last week, but we saw some action from a few of the starters, most notably Deshaun Watson. Meanwhile, the Eagles dropped their preseason opener against the Ravens, and although none of their regular starters saw much playing time, they were able to cover the spread.

Friday, Aug. 18

Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Giants -3
• Total: O/U 35
• Moneyline: Panthers (+140) | Giants (-165)

The Carolina Panthers were shut out by the Jets last week, 27-0, but most of the attention was on the professional debut of Bryce Young. Although he completed 4-of-6 passes, he only averaged 3.5 yards per pass and had virtually no protection from his starting offensive line. Against the Giants, who lost to the Lions last week, look for Young to get more playing time, despite taking some big shots.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons (7:30 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Falcons -6
• Total: O/U 38
• Moneyline: Bengals (+190) | Falcons (-230)

Cincinnati did not play any regular starters in a 36-19 loss to the Packers. While that was expected, all eyes should be on the Bengals’ quarterback depth, as Joe Burrow‘s status for Week 1 is still in jeopardy. While Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning played fine, it is a clear drop in talent, and with back-to-back divisional matchups to open the season, Cincinnati might need one of those guys to step up.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Detroit Lions (1 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Jaguars -4
• Total: O/U 37.5
• Moneyline: Jaguars (-180) | Lions (+155)

The Jaguars pulled off a win in Dallas to open the preseason, thanks to a big performance from backup quarterback Nathan Rourke. While Trevor Lawrence did play, Rourke passed for 153 yards on 9.0 yards per attempt, with a touchdown. Conversely, the Lions also won their preseason Week 1 matchup, knocking off the Giants, 21-16.

Miami Dolphins vs. Houston Texans (4 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Texans -4.5
• Total: O/U 39.5
• Moneyline: Dolphins (+165) | Texans (-195)

The NFL debut of C.J. Stroud did not go according to plan. He only played two series but threw a bad interception on his first drive and only passed for 13 yards on two completions. He probably will get a few more drives in this matchup, which is why the Dolphins vs. Texans odds heavily favor Houston.

Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (6:30 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Steelers -2.5
• Total: O/U 41.5
• Moneyline: Bills (+115) | Steelers (-135)

The Bills and Steelers won their opening preseason games, but Pittsburgh looked the most impressive, dominating the first three-quarters of their win over Tampa Bay. Quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph looked sharp, and the Steelers played a few starters at receiver, including George Pickens, who caught a 33-yard touchdown for his only target of the game.

Meanwhile, Matt Barkley looked tremendous for Buffalo, completing 14-of-15 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns en route to a 23-19 win over the Colts.

Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts (7 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Colts -2
• Total: O/U 37.5
• Moneyline: Bears (+115) | Colts (-135)

It took no time for Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears to add to the excitement of this season. Fields passed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on three pass attempts. Now, both touchdowns were from screen passes to D.J. Moore and Khalil Herbert, but it showcased how athletic this unit is. Defensively, Chicago came up with four turnovers, including an interception off Malik Willis and Will Levis.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets (7:30 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Jets -1
• Total: O/U 36.5
• Moneyline: Buccaneers (-105) | Jets (-115)

The Buccaneers’ quarterback battle had a clear winner after Week 1, with Baker Mayfield outperforming Kyle Trask. While Trask was not terrible, he threw an interception and Mayfield looked very sharp, leading an offense without six starters. Meanwhile, the Jets still have not shown their No. 1 offense and defense yet, but Zach Wilson looked very good in a Week 1 victory over the Panthers, passing for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Arizona Cardinals (8 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Chiefs -7
• Total: O/U 39.5
• Moneyline: Chiefs (-280) | Cardinals (+230)

The Chiefs played Patrick Mahomes and a few starters for only a series. While we should not expect much more than just a few snaps from the big names, Kansas City has a promising skill room, with guys like Cornell Powell and his Clemson teammate, Justyn Ross, who caught a touchdown pass. The Cardinals, however, are not as deep but were able to pull off a last-second victory over the Denver Broncos, thanks to a David Blough touchdown pass and a two-point conversion with only two seconds left.

Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings (8 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Titans -2.5
• Total: O/U 36
• Moneyline: Titans (-135) | Vikings (+115)

Tennessee lost their first preseason matchup but was able to split a good amount of time between Malik Willis and Will Levis. Neither quarterback really impressed, but going forward, the Titans could be a good team to bet on this preseason as they have two quality quarterbacks given the talent level they are facing. Minnesota is deep, but they will not play many starters during this game, which is why they are 2.5-point underdogs. 

New England Patriots vs. Green Bay Packers (8 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Packers -1
• Total: O/U 36.5
• Moneyline: Patriots (-105) | Packers (-115)

Jordan Love was O.K. but did not do much in the Packers’ Week 1 victory. He had a touchdown pass and completed 70% of his passes, but only passed for 46 yards on 10 attempts. We should see a little more out of him this week, which will be needed against a deep Patriots defense. While they gave up 20 to Houston in Week 1, New England has a lot of talent on defense that should see more playing time this week. 

Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers (8:30 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Broncos -1
• Total: O/U 37
• Moneyline: Broncos (-110) | 49ers (-110)

It was a slow start for Russell Wilson, but he settled in nicely, throwing a 21-yard touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy to cap off his night. There are still some concerns with Wilson, as he looked shaky throughout most of the first quarter. But the offensive line did him no favors, and with more playing time this week, he should start getting more accustomed to Sean Payton’s system.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Rams (9 p.m. ET)

• Spread: Raiders -3
• Total: O/U 36.5
• Moneyline: Raiders (-160) | Rams (+135)

Las Vegas dominated their first preseason game, beating the 49ers, 34-7. They scored in every quarter and only allowed San Francisco to score in the second quarter. It won’t be this easy against the Rams, but Los Angeles did have a very slow start offensively in their Week 1 loss to the Chargers. However, Stetson Bennett performed well, with a touchdown pass on 191 passing yards.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks (10 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Seahawks -6
• Total: O/U 37.5
• Moneyline: Cowboys (+200) | Seahawks (-240)

A loaded Saturday slate ends in Seattle, with the Seahawks looking to stay undefeated in the preseason. They knocked off the Vikings in Week 1 with a big performance from Drew Lock, who passed for two touchdowns and had a 104.7 quarterback rating. On the other side, Dallas lost Week 1, but the offense looked good with Will Grier leading the charge, which makes the over in this game very tempting. 

Sunday, Aug. 20

New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Chargers (7:05 p.m. ET, NFL Network)

• Spread: Saints -4
• Total: O/U 37.5
• Moneyline: Saints (-180) | Chargers (+155)

The lone preseason matchup on Sunday features two undefeated teams, with Derek Carr‘s Saints heading to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. Carr looked sharp in his first action with New Orleans, throwing a touchdown pass and completing six-of-eight passes.

On the other side, we did not see much of anything from the Chargers’ starters and probably won’t see much more this week with the Saints and Chargers running joint practices leading up to this preseason matchup.

Monday, Aug. 21

Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Commanders (8 p.m. ET, ESPN)

• Spread: Ravens -4
• Total: O/U 38.5
• Moneyline: Ravens (-200) | Commanders (+170)

Monday Night Football is back, with the Baltimore Ravens looking to keep its now 23-game preseason win streak alive against the Washington Commanders. While they only won by one, the Ravens continue to show why they are among the elite organizations in the NFL. Baltimore is deep and talented and is expected to play a few more starters this week. 

Meanwhile, the Commanders won their first preseason game against the Browns, and although it took a while for Sam Howell to get going, he settled in nicely and had a touchdown pass. The Ravens are big favorites for a reason, but Washington is good on both sides of the ball and should give Baltimore a real test.
