Bookies Battle 2022 contestants did a fine job of spotting betting line value ahead of NFL Week 4, as the top five consensus picks are all on the right side of the number, per point spreads as of Friday.

Raiders -2 (vs. Broncos) garners the sentiment of nearly 80% of pool participants, who are scrapping a half-point of value compared to the -2.5 found on most NFL oddsboards at the end of the week.

Rams +2.5 (at 49ers) is the second most popular Bookies Battle pick this week, a full point better than the +1.5 LA backers are asked to lay before the weekend.

Cardinals +1.5 (at Panthers) offers a half-point of value for 66% of our players.

With moves around the ‘1’ and ‘2’, we’re not talking about the most important numbers in football betting, but Ravens +3.5 (vs. Bills) looks nice, as the market is painted ‘3’ across the market on Friday.

There’s also been juice added to Cowboys -3 (vs. Commanders) at many bet shops around the country.

While our bookmakers have leaned heavy chalk early in the season, a tally of the picks above shows underdogs accounting for nine of the 16 consensus picks on the Week 4 card.

Dogs have dominated at the betting window so far this season, going 27-18-2 against the spread through three weeks (the Bengals covered -4 at home against the Dolphins in the Week 4 opener Thursday night).

Season Snapshot

It’s been an inauspicious start for Bookies Battle consensus picks, which are 17-30-1 on the season and have slumped through two straight five-win weeks.

There have been standouts, of course, with Casey Lewless (Margaritaville Bossier City), Casey Degnon (Westgate Las Vegas), and Kalen Carlisle (Wynn) tied for first in the standings with 28-19 records.

2020 Bookies Battle champ Randy Madayag (BetMGM) and Robert Kowalski (Baldini’s Casino) are deadlocked at 27-20.
