Arizona’s status as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team is unlikely to end Sunday, when the Cardinals are massive 18-point home favorites over the Texans. Week 8, though, provides the next stern test for Kyler Murray & Co., as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers pay a visit to State Farm Stadium on Thursday night.
The game between NFC contenders, along with the entire Week 8 slate, is open for wagering, with Caesars Sportsbook and SuperBook USA hanging look-ahead lines a week in advance. Per point spreads seven days before kickoff, Arizona is a 3-point favorite (-115) at Caesars, while +3.5 (-120) is available for Packers bettor at the Las Vegas shop.
Here are some other Week 8 betting highlights:
— The Rams are 14-point favorites in Houston, marking the most points a road team has been asked to lay so far this season.
— The betting market doesn’t seem to think much of Geno Smith. Caesars offers the Seahawks as 3-point chalk at home over the lowly Jaguars. The SuperBook shows more respect to Seattle, dealing -4.
— There’s a half-point difference between the books with the Patriots-Chargers game, as Caesars has L.A. -6, the SuperBook -5.5.
— Cowboys-Vikings in the Sunday primetime slot promises fireworks, while the Giants will try to make survivor pool players sweat Monday night in Kansas City.
