NFL Week 8 picks are in, and here’s another edition of Gaming Today’s 2023 Bookies Battle. We’ll take a look at all the consensus picks, top selections from our contestants, and review where we’re at on the leaderboards.

Overall, the consensus picks from Week 7 went an abysmal 4-9. Buffalo was the biggest loss for most of our bookies with an upset loss to New England.

Top Consensus Picks for NFL Week 8

  1. Cincinnati Bengals – 71% of picks | CIN +5.5 at SF
  2. Miami Dolphins – 71% of picks | MIA -9.5 vs NE
  3. Minnesota Vikings – 69% of picks | MIN +1 at GB
  4. Seattle Seahawks – 69% of picks | SEA -3 vs CLE
  5. Detroit Lions – 67% of picks | DET -8.5 vs LV

A few of the consensus picks from our bookies crack the 70% mark. With the 49ers taking a two-game losing streak on the road, most of the bets are landing on Bengals +5.5. In addition, quarterback Brock Purdy is going through the concussion protocol. It’s unclear whether he will play or not in the game.

Another game seeing 71% of the picks is Dolphins -9.5, the largest spread on our contest board. Miami’s offense continues to impress, and our bookies aren’t convinced that New England is “back” after a victory. Four other games see spreads of -8.5, with one of those teams, the Ravens, on the road.

Another big line contestants are laying is the Lions -8.5 over the Raiders. Detroit hit a buzzsaw in Baltimore with a stunning 38-6 blowout loss. Both of the defenses in the upcoming matchup give up similar total yards per game, but the Lions’ offense is significantly better with over 90 yards per game.

For the record, the Ravens are seeing 51% of the picks in their road game against the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, in an NFC North matchup, the Vikings +1 are getting 69% of the picks. Minnesota is now favored by a point or more at most sportsbooks. They’ve rattled off two straight wins and certainly look like a team that can make a comeback to playoff contention this season.
