Consensus picks for Week 8 went 9-6, an improvement from a week ago. Top misses include Buffalo to start the week, the Los Angeles Rams, and Chicago. The wild battle in New York was a push, with the Jets winning by 3.

None of our bookies reached a consensus of 70 percent or higher for any of the NFL Week 9 games. Only six are above 60 percent, and five are shown above. The leading consensus pick is the big matchup of the late afternoon between Dallas and Philadelphia, and 68 percent of our contestants are taking Eagles -3.
Two-thirds of our bookies are taking the following spreads: Saints -7, Rams +3, and Browns -7.5. Cleveland’s line is the largest of the week, with a hook on the full touchdown. Most of our bookies are fading a couple of NFC North teams, Green Bay and Chicago, who have been struggling recently.

2023 Bookies Battle Week 8 Winner and Leaderboards
Congratulations to Ed Malinowski (DraftKings), who finished at 13-2 overall in Week 8 and alone in first place. They took a loss by selecting Buffalo on Thursday Night Football but went undefeated on Sunday. The second loss came on Monday, with the Lions taking down the Raiders by 12, covering the 8.5-point spread.
Tim Nortz (Northern Quest) finished alone in second place with a 12-3 record. There was a three-way tie for third place at 11-4 with Michael Piranio (Mandalay Bay), Mike Pusakones (Mirage), and Nick Smith (Snoqualmie Casino).
The second quarter of the NFL season wraps up after this week, and it’s a close battle at the top. Currently, Mike Pusakones has a one-game lead over Michael Piranio. Max Schmerin (BetRivers) and Seamus Ryan Magee (BetMGM) are tied for third place, and are just one game behind second place.
