Two quality NHL games on Friday give bettors a chance to see if two perceived edges play out.

The Winnipeg Jets are a -180 home choice against the Buffalo Sabres and are playing well during a rare extended homestand. This is when they want to stockpile points.

The Anaheim Ducks have a nice underdog price of +140 when entertaining a Florida Panthers team playing its second game in two nights. Anaheim may never be in a better spot to snap its losing streak, now six games, against Florida.

Here’s a look at NHL player props for Friday, November 17.

Buffalo Sabres at Winnipeg Jets (Jets , Total)

The Sabres, 7-8-1, prevailed 3-2 over the Minnesota Wild, got stuffed 4-0 by the Pittsburgh Penguins, and were outgunned 5-2 by the Boston Bruins in recent games.

The Jets, 8-5-2, are 2-1 in the midst of a rare five-game homestand. They doubled up the New Jersey Devils and Nashville Predators 6-3, while losing to the Dallas Stars 3-2.

Sabres

The Sabres have been offensively challenged in their last four games, tallying only six goals for a 1.50 average.

Jeff Skinner leads the team with seven goals and 13 points. He is a legitimate scorer.

Casey Mittelstadt has 10 assists to lead the team.

Victor Olofsson finally got on the board in his last game, notching his first two goals of the campaign. He tallied a career-high 28 last season and may be relied on heavily now that Tage Thompson (upper-body injury) is sidelined for a long time.

The Sabres have allowed in the mid-to-high 30 shots on goal in their last three games.

Devon Levi (.881) and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (.-902) have a below-average save percentage and face a lot of pucks.

Jets

Kyle Connor has been one of the league’s top scorers with 13 goals and 20 points.

Mark Scheifele sports five goals and 13 assists for 18 points. Both figure to have excellent scoring chances for the Jets.

Connor Hellebuyck has been a workhorse in goal for Winnipeg with a 7-4 mark, 2.99 GAA, and .899 save percentage.

Sabres vs Jets Betting Trends

The Sabres have won eight straight on the puck line as underdogs after a home loss. If you are new to NHL betting, the puck line is an underdog getting 1.5 goals or a favorite laying 1.5 goals.

The betting line appeals to underdog bettors who think their team can keep it close and favorite bettors who get a much better deal than the moneyline price.

Buffalo is -166 for the +1.5 number tonight.

The Sabres are 5-1 as underdogs after a home loss. If you like them to win outright, it’s +150.

Seven of the last eight games between these teams have finished Under.

Sabres vs Jets Bets to Consider

  • Winnipeg -1.5, +140 (Best Live Odds: )
  • Connor anytime scorer, +125 (Best Live Odds: )
  • Connor Over 1.5 points, +175
  • Mittelstadt assist, +160 (Best Live Odds: )

Florida Panthers at Anaheim Ducks (Panthers , Total)

The Ducks secured a nice road victory over the Nashville Predators and then ran out of steam against the Colorado Avalanche. They sustained an 8-2 pounding, marked by five third-period goals.

They come home to regroup with a respectable 9-7 record. The Ducks have an implied edge with Florida playing its second game in two nights and probably resting top goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who played last night.

The Panthers had been rolling, winning five straight before losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. They have a sharp 10-5-1 record and would seem likely to start backup goalie Anthony Stolarz here. The drop-off isn’t substantial, but could help nudge the needle in favor of the Ducks and the Over on the total.

The Ducks secured a nice road victory over the Nashville Predators and then ran out of steam against the Colorado Avalanche. They sustained an 8-2 pounding, marked by five third-period goals.

They come home to regroup with a respectable 9-7 record.

Panthers

The Panthers have their share of big guns.

Sam Reinhart has 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points.

Matthew Tkachuk adds three goals and 14 assists for 17.

Aleksander Barkov has six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.

Bobrovsky, the rock of the playoffs for Florida last year, has an 8-4 mark. He played well in the 2-1 loss to Los Angeles last night.

Stolarz is 2-1 at 2.71.

Ducks

The Ducks counter with Frank Vatrano’s 11 goals, five assists, and 16 points.

Mason McTavish has seven goals, nine assists, and 16 points.

Ryan Strome sits at two goals, 12 assists, and 14 points.

John Gibson is one of the league’s best in goal with a 2.19 GAA and a .921 win percentage.

Panthers vs Ducks Betting Trends

The road team has covered the puck line six straight times between these teams. Florida would pay nicely at +154 if it could extend that streak.

The road team has won the first period in the last four meetings of these teams.

Six of the last seven Panthers games have finished Over the total.

Panthers vs Ducks Bets to Consider

Matthew Tkachuk Over 3.5 shots, -120 (Best Live Odds: ). He is averaging 4.2 per game. Could be a small edge there.

Carter Verhaeghe Over 3.5 shots, +114 (Best Live Odds: ). That’s right on his average of 3.5, but a reasonable price.

Panthers vs Ducks Best Bets

We’re talking about two games. I am going to link them in one bet with a parlay.

Winnipeg moneyline and Florida-Anaheim adjusted total to Over 4.5. The price is -111.

Tkachuk assist, -110. This is one I did make at 2 a.m. because he’s been good to me through the years on this one. I hope I don’t jink him by publicizing it.
