The Baltimore Orioles had the best record in the American League, but that doesn’t mean a thing now as they face elimination at the hands of the hard-hitting Texas Rangers. Game 3 of the ALDS is scheduled for Tuesday night in Arlington, and the Rangers are priced as favorites. View the current odds from top sports betting apps below.

Oddsmakers like Texas to finish off Baltimore. But if you still feel something for the Birds, the series price is at +730 on FanDuel. But a first win is needed before three can be achieved. Consult the best MLB betting sites for promo offers to wager on this series and the baseball playoffs.

The Orioles and Rangers first pitch is slated for 8:03 p.m. ET on FOX. Here are our Orioles vs Rangers predictions and the latest MLB ALDS odds.

Starting Pitching Matchup for Game 3

Dean Kremer (13-5, 4.12 ERA, 157 K in 172.2 IP) vs. Nathan Eovaldi (1-0, 1.35 ERA, 8 K in 6.2 IP)

The biggest concern O’s fans should have for Game 3 is whether Kremer can get away with relying heavily on his two types of fastballs (four-seam and cutter) against the fastball-hitting Rangers lineup. In May, which seems like ages ago, Kremer allowed three runs to Texas in 6 1/3 innings. His heart rate will be much higher on Tuesday evening in a must-win game for Baltimore.

Eovaldi is carving (Jack-O-Lantern reference) himself a nice postseason reputation. He has a sub-3.00 ERA in the PS, and pitched brilliantly in the Wild Card series against the Rays. If he can hammer the strike zone like he typically does, and still get swings-and-misses, it will be a long night for the O’s deep in the heart of Texas.

Recap of Orioles vs Rangers Series

Texas Rangers

As their manager Bruce Bochy has said, the Rangers have been “weirdly streaky” in 2023. The lineup produced more runs than any team in their league, but at times they could disappear like a stray sock in the dryer. But in this LDS, the Rangers’ bats are cracking and smashing their way to lots of crooked numbers on the scoreboard.

Texas has seven players with multiple hits. Corey Seager has reached base eight times in two games, and Evan Carter is becoming a cult hero for his performance so far. Add in the scary-good power of Adolis García, who hasn’t even homered yet, and the Rangers are looking like a team that’s forgotten its late-season collapse to lose the division.

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles are showing their youth and inexperience, mostly on the bump. The two O’s starting pitchers have allowed 7 ER in 6 1/3 IP. Baltimore hasn’t helped itself by walking 8 batters in two games. Yes, 8.

On Tuesday, Baltimore desperately needs a good performance from Kremer. Otherwise, the Rangers can get the crowd in a frenzy and pummel their way to another big win.
