For the second week in a row, I got to try out a brand-new place as we went to Tailgate Social Sports Bar & Grill which is located inside Palace Station.
Tailgate Social just opened in November. I went on Saturday night and they were showing the Pay Per View fight. They had a cover charge of $35 per person but your food and beverage went towards that $35 minimum. Honestly that’s a really good deal for a PPV event.
Speaking of good deals, if you go during football games on the weekend, wings are just .50 apiece.
Tonight we’ve got one of the biggest nights in college basketball!! The Champions Classic featuring TWO huge matchups between Duke and Michigan State at 4:30pm then Kansas vs. Kentucky at 6:30pm!!

The set-up of Tailgate Social is great as the restaurant is spacious and there are TV’s everywhere. I went with my buddy and we got there during Happy Hour. Tailgate Social’s Happy Hour is 7 days a week from 5-7 p.m. They have some nice $5 deals as there are six different food items for $5. You can get warm Chips and Salsa or Guacamole, Potato Skins, BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, Warm Pretzel Bites and Chili Cheese Tater Tots. I had an order of Potato Skins that were a good way to get things started while taking in the games.
There are several drink specials during Happy Hour including Bud Light pitchers. I wanted a particular game on, and the waitress quickly got the TV in front me changed.
Both me and my buddy Bryan took advantage of the wing special. They have seven different wing sauces to choose from. I went with their Signature Buffalo sauce and Bryan had the Chipotle Lime. I liked mine but I’ll be honest, Bryan’s was a tad too hot for me. Yes, I’m a wimp.
Tailgate Social has a pretty extensive menu with salads, burgers and several other sandwich options. They also have Pizza and Steak. If you have a group of buddies you can order their 4-foot Stromboli that is filled with Pepperoni, Sausage, Roasted Peppers, Mozzarella & Parmesan Cheese and Pizza Sauce for Dipping. The Stromboli is $55 but will feed a group of guys.
For the beer lovers they have a large selection of beers, ales and lagers on tap to choose from. There is something for everyone’s taste. If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth save room for an order of Fried Oreos. I had them and they were great.
The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I give Tailgate Social Sports Bar & Grill a rating of 3.50 Forks.
