Virginia sports betting has expanded, as PointsBet launched in Old Dominion on Wednesday.
The company received its operator license on November 23, 2021 and becomes Virginia’s 11th sports betting app. PointsBet is partnered with Colonial Downs Racetrack in New Kent, Virginia.
PointsBet VA Promo Code & Welcome Bonus
If you’re a Virginia sports bettor (or even just visiting), you can now claim PointsBet’s lucrative welcome bonus. New PointsBet users are offered two risk-free bets worth up to $2,000. Use promo code BESTOFFER to claim the bonus
The first $500 comes in the form of a standard risk-free bet. The second is a $1,500 risk-free Pointsbetting wager. Pointsbetting is a wager type unique to PointsBet, where the amount of money you win or lose is determined by the margin of victory (or loss) on your bet. It’s a high-risk, high-reward bet type.
To claim PointsBet’s welcome bonus, just sign-up and create an account.
If your risk-free standard bet loses, PointsBet will give you bet credits matching the amount of the wager up to $500. If the bet wins, you receive the winnings as normal and the bonus expires. Same goes for the Pointsbetting wager, up to $1,500.
PointsBet is poised to become the state of Virginia’s 11th sports betting operator behind the following brands:
- DraftKings Sportsbook
- Caesars Sportsbook
- Unibet Sportsbook
- Barstool Sportsbook
- Golden Nugget Sportsbook
Digital Gaming Corporation VA, LLC, owner of Betway, was also granted a Virginia sports betting license. The company received its approval on November 24, 2021. However, no launch date has been set for Betway’s Virginia sportsbook as yet.
PointsBet On The Rise

The company has launched in numerous legal sports betting states and recently made news for its landmark partnership with the University of Maryland Athletics, adding live dealer games to its Michigan online casino, and appointing former Cheddar and Tim Inc. executive Liam Roecklein as Senior Vice President of Content.
