One of the fun parts about going out to eat is looking over the menu and trying to decide what you want. So why would I go to a restaurant that basically only has one thing on the menu? Well, if the one thing on the menu is some of the best the city has to offer that’s why you go there.
That place is Ramen Hashi located at 5808 Spring Mountain Road. As you can tell, it’s a ramen restaurant and that’s all they do – but they do it so well. To be honest, it’s so good I wasn’t going to share this one, as it’s not a big place – just one long counter that faces right into the open kitchen so you can watch your meal being prepared. That’s it, just 15 or 16 seats but worth it if you have to wait.
The menu is simple. It comes on a piece of paper and you check the boxes of what you want. There are three sections. The top is what type of Ramen you want Shio, Shoyu or Tori Paitan. All three are chicken-based broth. Shio is seasoned with salt, while Shoyu (my go to ramen) with soy. The Tori Paitan is also a chicken-based broth but inside of a clear broth it’s a white or creamy colored broth seasoned with soy.
Most ramen shops have pork-flavored broth as their base but Ramen Hashi is one of the only shops that are all chicken based. The ramen is still topped with the traditional braised pork belly floating in the broth but I feel the chicken flavor gives it its special taste.
There is a fourth dish available – a rice bowl called Chashu Don, which is braised pork with shredded seaweed and egg over rice.
The second section of the menu is all add-in items for your ramen. You can add extra pork belly, bamboo, seaweed, tamago, green onion, black garlic oil and extra noodles. My move is order the extra noodles and when you are half way through your ramen they fill your bowl with more noodles. All of the noodles are made fresh in house.
The final section of the fill out menu is your beverages. All of the Ramen dishes are $9 with each add-in priced at $1 or $2. Extra pork belly (Chashu) is a $3 add on.
Las Vegas has many ramen restaurants, especially right there in Chinatown, but for me this is my favorite by far. If you like ramen you have to put Ramen Hashi on your must try list. The menu is simple, it’s ramen, but when it’s the only thing you do and you do it well people are going to come.
I give Ramen Hashi 4 Forks out of 4.
