I have lived in Las Vegas for over 11 years now and somehow I haven’t been to John Mull’s Road Kill Grill located at 3730 Thom Blvd. in North Las Vegas.

This past Saturday I finally made the ride out to John Mull’s. It’s a bit of a drive but it’s worth it. As I got out of the car all you could smell was smoky BBQ. And that was just fine with me.

As I walked up to the outdoor BBQ area to order I found a line about 20 deep of people waiting. You know it’s going to be good when people are standing in line just to order. The line moved pretty quickly as I only waited about 20-30 minutes. I can tell you there were about 30 people behind me once I got to order.

I went with the three-meat combo that came with two sides for $16.65. You got to pick from Hot Link, Brisket, Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, 1/4 Chicken or Rib Tips. I went with the Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket.

The pork ribs were amazing and clearly my favorite of the three. The Pulled Pork was very good too and was my second favorite. The Brisket was good but very lean which a lot of people prefer but I personally like a fatty brisket better and is the only reason I put the brisket as my third favorite.

You also get two sides and cornbread. I went with the baked beans and yams. Both were excellent and the cornbread was very moist. Too often cornbread can be as dry as a desert but not the Road Kill Grill’s cornbread.

I got so much food for the price. I honestly didn’t come close to finishing my meal and will enjoy leftovers for lunch.

They offer all their customers free bottled water and while I was waiting in line one of the workers was giving everyone waiting in line a pork rib as a free sample. They have an outdoor area with picnic tables if you want to eat there.

If a full meal is too much, you can order a sandwich as all of the meats available on the combos can be made as a sandwich. I want to try a Hot Link sandwich next visit. They also offer chili and cornbread for $6.95.

All of the workers seem to really enjoy what they are doing and are extremely friendly and helpful. The portions are huge and reasonably priced. I give John Mull’s Road Kill Grill a rating of 4 Forks.
