Rockin’ Olives is a new video slot game from Aristocrat, telling the story of the ultimate rock concert, complete with guitar and drum-playing olives and sexy strawberry fans.

The slot game features the work of world-famous Las Vegas-based artist Michael Godard – also known as the “Rock Star of the Art World.” Godard hand-painted every image as artwork, including his famous olive characters as the theme for the slot.

The game itself is a five-reel, 25-line video slot. The minimum bet to activate all the features is 25 credits plus a 10-credit ante wager. In the base game, the olive is wild and substitutes for all symbols except the dice. When one or more olive symbols substitute in a win, the pay is doubled.

Godard’s Rockin’ Olives also includes a fantastic progressive feature, triggered when three flaming dice land on reels one, three and five. It can also be triggered at random when playing 70 or more credits. The roll of the dice determines the prize.

If players roll three 6’s, they win the Major Jackpot. If they roll three of any other number, they win the Minor Jackpot. Rolling doubles (except 6’s) nets the Mini Jackpot. No doubles or triples earns a consolation prize of 175 credits.

During any paid game either the Morph or Multiplier feature can be triggered at random. In the Morph feature, one of the symbols in the game morphs into the olive. In the Multiplier feature, all regular wins are multiplied from 2x to 10x.

The Rock Show feature is triggered when either two or three show symbols appear on a sixth reel spin. Olive is standing on an arena stage in front of a bank of speakers. You select five speakers, revealing credit awards from 10 to 500 credits, which are then multiplied by the bet multiplier.

Your choices may inspire audience members to hold up lighters. At the end of the feature, if all four lighters are lit, you trigger the Encore feature. A random credit prize of 50 to 1,000 credits is awarded and multiplied by the bet multiplier.

When two or three battle symbols appear on the sixth reel, the Guitar Battle feature begins “pitting” the grape and olive in a fight to the finish. At the beginning of the feature, the player chooses a rocker. Each guitar rocker plays to win random credit prizes from 50 to 400 credits. The one with the highest credits wins.

If your rocker wins, you are awarded both credit amounts. If the other rocker wins, you are only awarded their rocker’s credits. All wins are then multiplied by the bet multiplier.

Risky Rhythms is triggered when two or three risky rhythms symbols appear on a sixth reel spin. Olive is one wild and crazy drummer – you might even say he’s explosive. That might have something to do with the fact that instead of drumsticks, he uses sticks of dynamite! Olive plays two drum solos as the credits advance on the credit meter. The final lit prize is added to the player’s win meter. You then have the option to “Take the Win” and keep the accumulated prizes, or “Keep Drumming” and risk losing half of the prizes if the drums break. You can select “Keep Drumming” up to six times. All prizes are multiplied by the bet multiplier.

When two or three world tour symbols on the sixth reel kick off the World Tour feature you get 15 free games. During the World Tour feature, the reels include new scatter symbols for Las Vegas, New York, Paris, London and Sydney that pay in any position.

I started with $15. After realizing I could be eligible for the progressives by playing 2x per line and the bonus wins were multiplied by the line multiplier, I played 70¢.

I managed to trigger the bonus enough times to experience all four of the bonus features. I did cash out with $32 and had a great time.
