Race 1 

$32K 3-year-old fillies go 6 1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Happy Trails ran one time in her career and it was a win at Del Mar last year. No. 4 Miss Important is in from Churchill Downs and lands in the barn of Northern California trainer Quinn Howey. Miss Important won for a $50K tag at Churchill Downs. No. 5 Dehydration just went wire to wire here on August 8th and now gets her first start off the Bob Hess Jr claim. 5-4-3 

Race 2 

$62,500 optional fillies and mares go five furlongs on the grass. No. 7 Querelle hopped at the start last out at this level and distance on the turf but still managed to finish second. No. 6 Gypsy Blu finished right behind Querelle. 7-6 

Race 3 

Maiden fillies and mares go six furlongs. No. 2 As Time Goes By is a first-time starter for trainer Bob Baffert and she is by American Pharoah. Her last work indicates she is on go. No. 4 Flat Out Joy owns a good work pattern and ran some good races last year. 2***-4 

Race 4 

$20K maiden fillies and mares travel a flat mile. No. 3 Into Victory takes the ultimate class drop here in Southern California as she moves from straight maiden races to this $20K maiden claimer and finds little to beat. We will single in the picks as she is all set for the maiden breaker. 3** 

Race 5 

$40K optional fillies and mares travel 1 1/16 miles on the turf. No. 4 Gypsy Spirit just missed last out traveling a mile on the grass. No. 7 Gallovie finished a close third behind Gypsy Spirit with No. 8 Muchly finishing right behind her. 4**- 7-8 

Race 6 

$16K claimers go six furlongs. No. 2 More Honor won for this price tag one race back. No. 5 Hydrogen will show all of his early speed at this level. 2-5 

Race 7 

$32K claimers travel 1 1/16 miles on the turf. No. 1 Acker is wheeled back in eight days off the claim and a poor effort. No. 2 French Getaway gets his second start off the layoff and looks mighty tough in here. No. 4 Holy Ghost exits a troubled last race and a key race. No. 5 Southern King drops to his lowest  level. No. 8 Hootie is the stablemate of Acker. 8-1-2-4-5 

Race 8 

California bred 2-year-old maiden fillies go 5 1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Squared Shady owns a big last work and gets jockey Mike Smith riding for her debut. No. 5 Ensley’s Dream has a nice string of works and looks like a runner. No. 9 Smooth Like Buttah has the experience. 1-5-9 

Race 9 

The $150K Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap at one mile on the grass. No. 3 Galilean fits off his recent form. No. 4 Mo Forza is back from Gulfstream after meeting Grade 1 company. He won the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby here last year. 3-4 

Race 10 

$40K optional claimers go 6 1/2 furlongs. No. 2 Jamming Eddy just did miss at this level last out when going 5 1/2 furlongs. He will like the extra furlong today. No. 3 St. Joe Bay just went wire to wire last out going seven furlongs. No. 8 Drop the Chalupa gets a new rider in this his second start off the layoff. No. 9 Express Train was last seen running in the Grade 1 American Pharoah last year. No. 10 Big Scott Daddy will be making a big late run. 2-10-3-8-9 

Race 11 

$50K maidens travel 1 1/16 miles on the turf. No. 10 Huge Bigly had a tough trip last out going a flat mile on the grass and now the blinkers come off. No. 11 Quicker drops and the blinkers go on. 10-11
