SANTA ANITA

Race 1

There is all early speed in this $12,500 claimer going a mile on the dirt. So the question will be if someone can take them wire-to-wire or will one of these be able to take back, we  don’t have the answer. Jockey David Lopez is on No. 1 Knock Em Flat, he gets a break in the weights and he may be able to sit chilly. 1

Race 2

We get 16 claimers going the tough 7 furlong distance. No. 5 Carlot Cowboy is in top form winning his last two starts, he gets his first start off the Diodoro claim. No. 6 Back to Bako drops in class and will wake up in this spot. 5-6

Race 3

No. 2 Tiz Adore is in from New York for Shirreffs and exits a key race. No. 3 La Boheme is in from over the pond and her works say she is on go. No. 7 Arewehavingfunyet is a must use if only for the fact he beds down in the hot Baltas barn. No. 8 Boat Drinks is usually around for a piece. 2-3**-7-8

Win and place 3

Race 4

No. 4 Mr. Game Seven dropped to this $30k maiden level last out and ran a better than looked 5th in a trouble race. He gets Santiago Gonzalez today and is the one to beat. No. 7 Little Mustard will go better with the drop to this level. 4-7

Race 5

Down the hill they go. No. 2 Fueled by Bourbon is a perfect 3 for 3 down the hill. No. 4 Guggenheim is back from New York and he won 2 of his 3 downhill starts the last time he was here. No. 9 Stormy Liberal gets a turn back in distance and the last time he went down the hill he got the win. No. 11 Guns Loaded would be our play but he is stuck on the also list. 2-4-9-(11 ae).

Race 6

No. 3 Family Code will show more early speed with the drop to this level. No. 4 Eddie Haskell won at first asking when sent off at 7/5, he could repeat. No. 6 Viviendo El Sueno whick means in English Living he dream exits the same race as Family Code. 3-4-6

Race 7

They go a flat mile on the grass so keep an eye out on how they ran in the first grass race of the day as this course took a ton of rain. No. 1 Quadrivium was sent to Dubai so his connections must think he can run and Graham Motion is no dummy. No. 2 Spring Up owns a very good record on this course winning 3 of 6. No. 3 Soi Phet gets Flavien Prat and that is a good sign. 1-2-3

Race 8

$20k maidens travel 6-1/2 furlongs. No. 5 Edzactly is the only first time starter in this very soft group, he is a must use. No. 6 Profound Visionary is in from Turf Paradise where he ran very good in his two starts on the grass, he can win if he can handle this dirt course. No. 7 Upbeat Tempo has run good in his two starts at this level. No. 8 Selection has had his chances but gets back to a sprint and he will be motoring late.

5-6-7-8
