No. 3 Just Got Lucky is looking for her third straight win and has a bullet last work. No. 4 Zuzu’s Petals is also entered on Friday, if she opts for this spot she will be our play. The very dangerous Jonathan Wong ships in No. 7 Lakia from Golden Gate, she is a must use. 3-4**-7

Race 3

Trainer Steven Miyadi sends out the uncoupled entry of No. 2 Herunbridledpower who just missed first out of the box and No. 4 Lucky Cherry the closer who gets a break in the weights with the bug boy Bruno Panicucci getting back on. No. 8 Casino Fever just got beat at .90 cents on the dollar last time out, she looks to rebound. 2-4-8

Race 4

THE $200K CAL CUP OAKS GOING A MILE ON THE GRASS

No. 5 Roo’s Valentine broke her maiden on the Del Mar grass going this mile distance. No. 6 Run Like the Boss gets stretched out and tries the grass for the first time, she is bred for it. No. 7 Pacific Heat will love the grass as she is by Unusual Heat as is No. 8 Cheekaboo who has done little wrong in her three starts.

THE $250K CALIFORNIA CUP DERBY GOING 1-1/16 ON THE DIRT

No. 2 Smokey Image will try and run his unbeaten streak to six in a row. Love the way No. 4 Demonslayer changed his tactics last time out when taking back and blowing them away down the lane, he could be this good. Maldo will be gunning No. 5 Glory Bound from the bell. 2-4-5

THE $150K DONALD VALPREDO CAL CUP SPRINTING 6 FURLONGS ON THE DIRT

No. 1 San Onofre comes off a nice win in a Grade III last out, he has continued to work well. No. 4 Richard’s Boy gets back on the dirt and will be very tough on the front end. No. 6 Sunday Rules has won 7 of his 8 starts and will be part of the early pace with Richard’s Boy. 1-4-6

THE $150K SUNSHINE MILLIONS FILLY AND MARE TURF SPRINT GOING DOWN THE HILL

No. 3 Smoove It likes this course winning 2 of six down the hill. No. 7 Velvet Mesquite has won 5 of her 11 starts down the hill. No. 8 Singing Kitty exits the same race as Velvet Mesquite and she also has won down the hill. 3-7-8

Race 8

There is a ton of early speed in this $20k optional claimer going 6 furlongs so we will look for a runner who will sit. No. 2 Jonny’s Choice did that one race back and got the win. No. 6 One More Roll also can sit off the hot pace as can No. 9 Pray Hard who worked a very sharp bullet here on the 24th, he will be our play. 9***

No. 5 Alert Bay likes this track and will like getting back to a route. No. 10 Poshsky gets the good turf jock Flavien Prat and will get a fast early pace to set up his late run. No. 12 Awesome Return has been working nothing but bullets heading into this race. 5-10-12

The CAL CUP day ends with maiden 3yo fillies going six furlongs. No. 6 Shy Carmelita is out of the dam Malley Girl who has dropped 4 winners from 4 starters, this filly is live. No. 7 Desperate Chick is her stablemate and comes off a big effort first out of the box. 6-7

Race 1

No. 2 Woodys Wharf is always there and gets her second try on this synthetic surface. No. 3 Josephine’s Moment drops looking for the win. 2-3

No. 1 Implicated is the speed on the rail with Baze and the one to beat. No. 3 Whyugottabesomean is the stablemate of Implicated and this is a very tough one two punch for Hollendorfer. 1-3

Race 3

No. 1 Tiki Torch and No. 5 Ms. K J ran together last time out for a higher price tag, they could finish one two in here. 1-5

Race 4

No. 1 Runfasterelse comes off a nice win and looks the one to beat. No. 2 Niassa gets off the grass and could find herself on the front end as there is very little early speed in here. No. 6 Margot Machance won in her only start on this course. 1-2-6

Race 5

No. 2 Black Spirit won his last start and this tough 9yo gelding has a big last work. No. 5 Mal Verde also won his last start and has a good last work here. No. 6 Siberian Laughter is on a win everyother race pattern and this is his win race. 2-5-6

Race 6

No. 2 Don’tsellhimshort gets his second start off the layoff and will be tough in this spot. No. 3 Lamu gets a huge drop in class for the Baze/Hollendorfer hook up. 2-3

Race 7

No. 4 Gab Power gets back to his claimed level and the level of his last win. No. 5 Utopian is in from Aqueduct for David Jacobson who has a win with one of his shippers here. No. 7 Athens is in from Santa Anita for Hollendorfer who drops him off the $25k claim into this $10k claimer, all is not well. 4-5-7

Race 8

No. 5 Seattle Boom ships in for Craig Dollase, he gets off the grass and makes his first start as a gelding, look for a big run today. No. 7 Commander Maggay is a first time starter out of the Hollendorfer barn and Baze gets the call. 5-7

Race 9

No. 3 Format V. will rebound off a troubled last trip, we will take our shot and single. 3
