SANTA ANITA

Race 1

No. 1 Papa Turf did not like the off track last time out, look for a big late run with the drop and a fast track. No. 5 Story to Tell also drops and likes this track where he has 2 wins a second and a third from his four starts. No. 6 Door’s Open comes off a nice win here and that made it 4 of 8 on this track. 1-5-6

Race 2

3yo maidens go 1-1/8 on the grass. No. 1 Undeniable U just missed by a neck going a flat mile on the grass in his last start when sent off at .90 cents on the dollar, he had trouble and was probably best. No. 5 Tristons’s Trilogy exits the same race, he was just a half length behind the winner No. 8 Silent Movies whose was taken down and place 3rd. 1**-5-8

Race 3

3yo maidens go 7 furlongs on the dirt. Baffert brings back No. 4 Adios Reality in just 13 days, not his usual move, but this second time starter was eliminated at the start in his first try and Bejarano just sat and never put him to a run. Baffert also had No. 6 Can’t Remember in that same race, he comes right back and Mr. B puts his go to rider up. 4-6

Race 4

No. 4 Secret Chords looks the speed and comes off a dominant maiden win. No. 7 Altaira will like the move back to this 6 furlong distance after running 7 furlongs in her last two starts. 4-7

Race 5

No. 1 Turn Your Eyes ran big here last out and the move to 6 furlongs could get him home on top today. No. 5 Skye Diamonds ran a good second last out and get Bejarano today. No. 7 Family Code was up against it last out in the King Glorious, he drops into a good spot. 1-5-7

Race 6

They go down the hill here in the first leg of the late pick four. No. 3 Stormy Liberal has won 2 of 5 down the hill just missing last out. No. 4 Fueled by Bourbon had a horrible trip in his last when finishing behind the Stormy Liberal, that was his first loss in four starts down the hill. No. 6 Guns Loaded may have been too close to the pace last out when finishing 5th behind the top two. No. 9 Eighty Three exits our HTW list as a $$$ play. No. 11 Perfectly Majestic has hit the board in all three of his downhill races, he gets a good post and the price will be right. 3-4-6-9**-11

Key exacta box 9 with 3-4-6-11

Race 7

At one time No. 3 Bad Read Sanchez was thought to be a derby horse back in 2014, he now is dropped in for a $12,500 price tag. No. 8 Undergroundrailroad comes off the layoff and looks ready. No. 9 I’m Zonin gets back to a sprint and gets Stew Elliott. 3-8-9

Race 8

THE $200K GRADE II BUENA VISTA GOING A MILE ON THE GRASS

No. 9 Her Emmynency finds her was back West and lands in the barn off Kristin Mulhall. This filly comes off a Grade I win at Keeneland and won her only start on this course, she has been off the board just one time in her seven starts. No. 10 Stormy Lucy has been one unlucky mare losing by a nostril and a neck in her last two starts. No. 12 Theatre Star was far back in her last start when flying late to be just a neck behind Lucy. 9-10-12

Race 9

The late pick four ends with $30k maiden 3yo fillies going 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Prowling Around looks very live in this spot as she is out of the dam Up On Her Toes who has dropped 7 winners from 7 starters. No. 6 One Smart Cat is out of the dam Foxy Faith who has dropped 3 winners from 3 starters, she has a nice last work and Mullins can pop with these kind. We are always aware when Bejarano sticks around to ride the last race and he is on No. 10 Papa’s Maggie who drops trying to cash. 1-6-10

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

This looks like a cold two horse race between No. 3 Small Town Shuffle and No. 5 Brownie Finale, we will use both in the pick five. 3-5

Race 2

Trainer John Martin sends out the uncoupled entry of No. 3 Dutchessa and No. 4 Power of Nine the chalk. No. 5 Forever a Fan is the price play in here. 3-4-5

Race 3

No. 1 Runningwiththelute comes off a nice win after being shipped in from Southern Cal, he may like it here. No. 2 Ms. K J will be her main danger. 1-2

No. 2 Ryder’s Straight gets her first start off the Jack Steiner claim, he moves this filly back to a sprint and Jack has been hot of late winning with 3 of his last 6 starters with 2 thirds. No. 3 Good Stats looks the one to beat with Baze getting the call for his buddy Jerry. 2-3

Race 7

No. 2 Runfasterelse loves this track and distance as she has won 3 of 6 with 2 seconds and a 3rd at this 1-1/16 distance on the main. No. 3 Papercoversrock and No. 4 Niassa both exit the same last race as the top choice. 2-3-4

Race 8

No. 8 Classic Grand gets a jock switch to Hernandez and that could be key. No. 9 Tough Timber could find himself on the frontend, if so he could get very brave. 8-9

Race 9

No. 1 Seattle Boom gets his second start on this circuit and just missed last out, bet him to cash. No. 3 Volume Twelve is a first time starter out of the dam Salt Loch who has dropped 6 winners from 6 starters.
