SANTA ANITA

Race 1

We get 4yo and up maidens going down the hill. Richard Mandella sends out first time starter No. 4 Atypique a $300k grey Tapit colt down the hill off some nice works and Prat gets the call. No. 10 Ketos has shown good early speed in all three of his starts, he gets on the grass for the first time and has a great post second off the layoff and his breeding says yes on the grass. 4-10

Race 2

No. 8 London Legacy drops off the Peter Miller claim, he has good tracking speed and the fact that Bejarano gets on him is a big plus. He just missed with the gelding the last time he rode him. No. 9 Brother Soldier gets a big drop in class in this his second off the layoff and his last work says he will rebound in a big way today. 8-9

Race 3

$50k maiden 3yo go 6 furlongs. Its March Madness season and that alone leads us to second time starter dropper No. 2 Hoosier Road who was bet like a good thing first out of the box but never got going after a slow start, he keeps working bullets and could run to them today. No. 1 It’s Just Bob exits the same race and he finished a very close fourth. 1-2

Race 4

No. 2 Madam Belle has hit the board in all three of her starts and all three at the Gate. She comes here and lands in a new barn, gets the top jock and is bred to love the grass. No. 7 She’s a Warrior was tossed in with the big girls last out when facing the likes of Songbird, she is back with maidens and also will try the grass. 2-7

Race 5

THE GRADE III SANTA YSABEL

They travel 1-1/16 on the dirt in the Santa Ysabel for 3yo fillies. No. 2 Land Over Sea has had the misfortune of running into the undefeated Songbird in her last four starts. She finished second in her last and that was the first off her layoff, she meets Songbird again today. If I were O’Neill this would not be the spot for me! This looks like another walkover for No. 6 Songbird who will be odds on, everyone single in the picks. 6

Race 6

No. 1 Two Taps lost to No. 10 Swissarella last time out, she will get the best of her today. Trainer Baltas has been sending out live ones off the layoff and he sends out No. 3 Savannah Sky off the layoff. No. 8 Sheer Pleasure will like getting back on a dry fast surface and like the longer distance. 1-3-8

Race 7

In this mile turf race No. 1 Seve’s Road comes off the layoff for D’Amato, he has hit the board in all three of his turf starts here at Anita. No. 3 Dreaming of Gold has a huge last work and will like the shorter distance. No. 11 John’s Success is the stablemate of Seve’s Road and comes off a nice win. 1-3-11

Race 8

No. 7 Solid Wager is proven at this 7 furlong distance and the drop in class should get him back in the game. No. 8 Seattle Serenade comes off the layoff for Hollendorfer. He won his two starts last year, one at .80 cents on the dollar and the other at even money. His works say go. No. 9 Souper Knight has been looking for a spot, he is in from the Aqueduct of Jacobson. No. 12 American Pride is in top form and has won 3 of 5 here. 7-8-9-12

Race 9

We love when Kent Desormeaux rides the last race and he gets on No. 6 Book Thirty Four for O’Neill, he comes off a good second at this level last out. We will single in the late pick four. 6

Win and place 6

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

The sneaky trainer Jonathan Wong sends out two runners in the first race and we will use both. No. 3 Wagered first off the claim and No. 5 Valborg Matilda who comes here from Santa Anita and moves from the barn of Belvoir to Wong. 3-5

Race 2

No. 2 Astra Star has won three straight, she comes off a voided claim and remains at the same level. No. 5 Mended comes to town and gets a huge drop in class, if she has three legs she wins. No. 7 Swag Money gets her second start on this circuit and first off the Martin claim. 2-5-7

Race 3

No. 2 Metadago just missed last out and looks to be sitting on the win. No. 3 An Khe Pass will be odds on with the big drop and Baze getting back on for Jerry. 2-3

Race 4

No. 1 Tiki Torch has been hanging like a rat, maybe the drop to this level will get her home. No. 6 Kohala exits the same race as Tiki. No. 7 Baciami just miss at this 6 furlong distance one race back. 1-6-7

Race 5

No. 3 Commander Maggay drops and looks the short price winner, everyone single. 3

Race 6

No. 3 Malibu Alex looked good drawing away at even money in his first start, he will like this mile distance. No. 6 Glory Bound is in form Santa Anita, he is the speed with Baze riding. 3-6

Race 7

No. 6 Comanche Ruler has hit the board in all three of his starts here, he gets his first start off the $20k Morey claim and looks the one to beat. No. 7 Born to Serve is the speed. 6-7

Race 8

We will use some runners exiting the same race: No. 3 Next Speaker who loomed and hung finishing fifth, No. 4 Quick and Silver the speed who finished third, No. 5 Infosec the winner and No. 8 Bold Fantasy the second place finisher. 3-4-5-8

Race 9

No. 6 Council Miss is unlucky to still be a maiden, today could be her day. No. 8 City Bench ships in form down South and gets a big drop as does No. 9 Bolt Up. 6-8-9
