SANTA ANITA
Race 1
2yo maidens go 4-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Face of Victory has a big 4 furlong work for his debut and gets the hot riding Joe Talamo. No. 3 Mr. Louis gets Bejarano riding for O’Neill, this on looks ready to roll. 1-3
Race 2
No. 4 Suavemente fits at this level and has hit the board in all four of his starts here. No. 5 Nicaradalic Rocks drops and gets Kent back on riding for his bro, the turn back in distance will also help his chances. No. 6 Secret Room also drops trying to cash. 4-5-6
Race 3
Down the hill they go. No. 2 Atypique ran his best race down the hill and will like the turnback. No. 5 Name for the Blame exits our HTW list and is much better than his debut race, the price will be large. No. 9 Blue Navy Blue gets the best of the draw and ran second in his only downhill turf try. 2-5-9
Exacta box 2-5-9
Race 4
This is one bad group of $10k claimers going 5-1/2 furlongs. The best we can come up with is No. 3 Wade on the drop and his good early speed and No. 7 Pulla Train on the big drop down with Pedroza getting back on board. 3-7
Race 5
Down the hill they go again, this time maiden fillies and mares go to the post. No. 1 Always Dangerous gets on the grass in this her second off the layoff. No. 2 Lori’s Attitude just missed in her one start and it was down the hill. No. 3 Audacious Angel has had her chances but Bejarano sticks and that is good enough for us. 1-2-3
Exacta box 1-2-3
Race 6
No. 2 Hennythelovepenny gets back to her best game, sprinting. No. 3 Margie’s Minute gets Prat off the Tom Bell claim. No. 4 Yana will be the speed as she went wire-to-wire at this distance and level one race back. 2-3-4
Race 7
No. 1 Well Caught is in from Ireland for Simon Callaghan who does well with these Irish imports, this one is very live. No. 4 Mining Diamonds look good breaking her maiden wire-to-wire last out albeit on a wet surface but ran good in her one race down the hill. No. 7 Amber Louise also likes this course and is a must use. 1-4-7
Race 8
No. 2 Spark Plug Katie drops in with maiden claimers in this her 3rd start. No. 3 Basie Boots drops from $50k to this $30k level, she will try and take them wire-to-wire. 2-3
