SANTA ANITA

Race 1

We start this huge 11 race card with $20k maiden fillies and mares going 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Wondrous Cat showed some good early speed when sent off at 2/1 in her one start at Los Al back in April. Chad Linsay got on No. 4 Turf Club Queen last time out and she responded with a big effort. No. 8 Plus Perfect also showed good early speed in her one and only at Los Al when sent off the 2-1 chalk, her last work says she is on go. 3-4-8

Race 2

Maidens go 1-1/8 on the grass as this pick five gets tougher. No. 1 Ral Rue and No. 2 Mr. Roary both will be battling for the front end, if one of them can clear, he could get brave. If not things could get dicey up front and set it up for No. 6 Dark Energy who exits our HTW list off a huge effort first on the grass when probably the best. We will take our shot and single Dark Energy in what is a wide open race. 6

Race 3

We get $16k claimers going 6 furlongs. No. 4 Prince Valiant droops off a win vs. better but Santiago Gonzalez sticks. No. 6 Adair gets a big drop in class by D’Amato who looks to try and get the win and dump. No. 7 Chromium will get a good trip form this post and will be making a late run. 4-6-7

Race 4

$20k maiden fillies and mares go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Candy Tale exits our HTW list off a big effort in her one and only start after being squeezed off at the start and the second place finisher in the race came back to score. No. 8 Angel Lane is the speed on the drop and looks the one to beat. 3-8

Race 5

$20k claimers go 6-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Basmati is a pro and give his best and today Bejarano gets on board. No. 4 Too Fast to Pass last won here at this distance and level on a fast track and he gets it today. 1-4

Race 6

THE $400K GRADE I SHOEMAKER MILE ON THE GRASS

Leparoux ships in with the speedy No. 1 Heart to Heart for Brian Lynch. Jose Lezcano ships in with No. 3 Tourist for Bill Mott. No. 6 Midnight Storm will sit chilly off the hot pace and try to run them down at the wire. 1-3-6

Race 7

THE $400K GRADE I VANITY MILE ON THE DIRT

No. 1 Stellar Wind is a perfect 3 for 3 on this dirt course and 2 for 2 at this mile distance. She will need to be perfect in order to beat the super mare No. 2 Beholder who has won 12 of her 13 starts here with a second. No. 4 Taris is very sharp right now and Prat fits her like a glove. 1-2-4

Tri box 1-2-4

Race 8

Down the hill they go and this race could go anyway and is one tough one to get to the bottom of. No. 2 Nat’s Nation just broke his maiden in fine style down the hill. No. 7 Moose Skowron gets back to a sprint and will try grass. No. 11 Schillairess comes off the layoff for Peter Miller, he won his only start last year at .70 cents on the dollar and his breeding says he will like the green. 2-7-11

Race 9

Maidens go 5-1/2 furlongs. Bob Baffert sends out three runners, first time starter No. 2 Americanize with Mike Smith. No. 6 Westfest who has been bet like a good thing in his two starts and Bejarano gets his second shot with him off a good second last out. Baffert also sends out No. 10 Jaw Dropper off a better then looked effort in his one and only start, he moves from the inside to the outside. One of the three will win. 2-6-10

Race 10

No. 2 Fusaichi Samurai did not like the wet track in his last start, he will be tough on a fast surface, we will single in the late pick four. 2

Race 11

In the last race today they go a flat mile on the grass. No. 8 Hobbits Hero has won 7 of his 10 starts on this course and 6 of 9 at this mile distance. No. 10 Undeniable U will get the perfect set up and will be flying with a late run. 8-10

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 2 Regil Girl was working at Emerald Downs but now lands in the Hollendorfer barn and gets her first start. No. 4 American Pegasus gets Baze off a nice second last out. No. 7 Whim has had her chances but this is her level. 2-4-7

Race 2

No. 2 Cap Ferrat is a John Martin reclaim and a must use with a big jock switch. No. 5 I’m Not Gray will be on or near the front end. No. 6 All That Rocks gets a big drop. 2-5-6

Race 3

No. 1 Central Casting will be our single in the pick five, this filly ships in from Turf Paradise where she was a perfect 2 for 2 on the grass, she will love this mile turf distance. 1 ( turf only)

Win and place 1

Race 4

We start the first leg of the huge .20 cent pick six carryover, it’s a must play as even if you don’t own the only ticket you will be well rewarded. No. 3 Lucky Vintage drops to a new low. No. 5 Trickortreat gets a big drop by Morey. No. 8 Tengas Way can only improve off his one and only start. 3-5-6

Race 5

No. 2 Super Indian and No. 4 Ace Deuce will be battling it out from the bell and that could set things up for No. 5 Zorrito the price play from off the hot pace. 2-4-5

Race 6

No. 1 Giant Mark drops and will be dangerous at this level. No. 4 Altuve has good early speed and is perfectly spotted off the maiden win. 1-4

Race 7

No. 1 Charming Starlet is in top form and will be right there down the lane. No. 2 Tiz a Tommy Town ships in form Santa Anita for Hollendorfer and will go long and on the grass both for the first time. No. 7 Taparri is the stablemate of Tommy. 1-2-7

Race 8

No. 1 Protocol ran big in his first at this level. No. 4 Top Drawer is in from Santa Anita and looks the one to beat and looks a possible single. No. 6 Percy’s Bluff loves this track. 1-4**-6

Race 9

This looks like a two horse race between No. 6 Village Kitten and No. 8 Winning Causeway, those are the two in the last leg of the pick six and pick four. 6-8
