No. 5 Clear comes off a layoff of 11 months but sports a real nice 6 furlong work here on the 6th. He is ready to run with Joe Talamo getting the leg up. No. 6 Hodge comes off a 7 month layoff and he also has been working with a purpose. 5-7

This is one bad group of 20k maiden fillies and mares but No. 9 Sugar Spice who will be odds on is definitely the girl to beat unless either of the first time starters can run. No. 5 Scary Ride and No. 7 My Netanya both bed down in sharp barns. 5-6-9

Race 3

No. 2 Schiaparelli has run two times, both sprinting on the grass with two wins. No. 3 Broken Dreams will be the one to beat at a short price. No. 4 Kindle just failed to last going down the hill when Broken Dreams ran her down on the wire. 2-3-4

Race 4

There is a lot of early speed in here and that will set things up for No. 7 Warren’s Rocky who will be a nice price play in this race. 7

Race 5

We have 2yo maidens going a mile on the grass. No. 5 Surfcup has had steady work outs for Baffert and this first time starter is bred to love the grass. No. 6 Rob’s Pal had a horrible trip in his last start at this mile turf distance at Santa Anita and now gets the hot riding Tyler Baze.5-6

No. 6 Almost a Lady is the speed of the speed in here and will try to take them back to back. No. 2 Roll Your Eyes will try and run her down. 2-6

No. 3 Dime Piece has run five races and hit the board in all five including losing by a nostril in her first try last time out. No. 7 Special Charm was a neck behind Dime Piece. 3-7

Race 8

Jockey Bejarano has ridden No. 2 Inner Groove  four times and won with her all four times. 2

THE GRADE 2 CITATION 

No. 1 Ultimate Eagle won the Hollywood Derby here last year and his last work says go. Todd Pletcher brings in the classy No. 2 Doubles Partner who has been knocking heads with the likes of Wise Dan and Little Mike. Beat her to cash. 1-2

Race 1

No. 1 Mojave Secret will go much better in this his second start and the drop. Baze rides the speedy No. 4 Mystical Mark who lost by a neck the last time he was here. No. 6 Pirate’s Dare is a very live first time starter for Steve Sherman. 1-4-6

Race 2

Maidens going a mile on the grass. No. 5 Blue Line Cat will try and take them back to back. No. 7 Magic Bert is the price play of the race. 5-7

Race 3

No. 2 Successful Bluff has been working like he is ready to roll. No. 6 Plenny of Henny ships in looking for easier. 2-6

Race 4

No. 3 Lodi Red gets Baze riding for Morey first off the claim and this is a high percentage play. No. 8 Farmer Giles is Lodi’s stablemate. 3-8

No. 1 Gladding ships in for John Sadler and may have too much class for this group. 1

No. 7 Outdoorsman Gene drops in this his second off the layoff. No. 11 Prometheus Bull gets back on the grass and is the stablemate of the Outdoorsman. 7-11
