SANTA ANITA

Race 1

Bejarano was on fire here on opening day winning four. He will ride No. 1 Coastal Breeze a second time starter for Bob Baffert who also sends out the very speedy No. 9 Inflamed Spirit. No. 6 Dr. Spin may not have liked the cushion surface at Hollywood and will rebound here as he gets back on the dirt where he ran a good second. He will get the right pace today for his closing kick. 1-6-9

Race 2

No. 2 Over Africa gets his second start off the layoff and drops into a softer spot. That last 6 furlong work by No. 6 Key Reversal says he is ready to roll. No. 11 Hodge takes a big dip in class and gets Maldonado. No. 9 Traweek also takes a big dip in class and he may be the one coming late at what will be a big price. 2-6-9-11

Race 3

No. 7 Boller Bomb has really bombed out and takes another drop in class but Bejarano says he will ride and that is a good sign. No. 10 Didrikson has some long shot appeal with Eliska Kubinova staying. She has been working this filly and the drop to this level and getting off the grass will help her chances for a very sneaky trainer who likes to win a bet. No. 12 Katy’s Star gets off the grass, drops back to her correct level and is back sprinting. 7-10-12

Race 4

Maiden fillies and mares go down the hill. No. 5 Marcyjane has been down the hill two times finishing 3rd and 4th. She will improve on those today. No. 11 Three Blondes and No. 12 Fabulous Fashion will both get perfect trips from their outside post. 5-11-12

Exacta box 5-11-12

Race 5

No. 8 Journaliste took some action in her first start in the US but really never got into the race in that five horse field. She will go much better today at what will be a much better price. No. 1 Pink Lollipops has won three of her six starts here. 1-8

Race 6

No. 1 Rising Legend came flying late in the Grade 3 Generous at Hollywood Park and will be coming with a late run again if he can stay out of trouble. No. 4 One Firm Cat ran right behind Rising Legend in that race but encountered trouble. He will be right there today. No. 5 Under Review is the stablemate of Rising Legend and also exits the same race. The one time No.  7 Avare went a mile on the grass and won. His works say he is ready. No. 8 Gabriel Charles was the steam in the BC turf sprint here and he blitzed them going down the hill. 1-4-5-7-8

Win and place 8

Race 7

Lots of early speed in this race so the way the race is run will determine the winner. The speed of the speed may be No. 9 Tiz the Tide and the ones who will be coming if she gets hooked will be No. 4 Dress the Part and No. 2 My Philly Girl. 2-4-9

Race 8

THE GRADE 3 DAYTONA

As we go down the hill in the Daytona, No. 9 Red Sun has won two of three going down the hill. Comebacker No. 10 Wilkinson won the Grade 2 American back in May and just may like this downhill course. No. 1 Great Mills will be the speed on the rail and if able to clear early he could be long gone. 1-9-10

Race 9

We finish the day at the great race course with a 8k claimer. No. 3 Hidden Blessing is a 6yo pro who remains in good form. No. 8 Half Dome Dude exits our HTW list and drops into an action spot. No. 12 Warren’s Dr. Boo won in his only start here. 3-8-12

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 5 Nina’s Dragon is the play in here. He is a second time starter who is ready to score. We will single in the pick four. 5

Race 2

The price will be better today on No. 3 Slam Slew as Baze leaves but we get a good jock in Kyle Frew and this gelding likes this 5 ½ furlong distance. Baze opts for No. 6 Bag’s of Fun. No. 7 Arathorn just did miss last time out. 3-6-7

Race 4

Maiden 20k fillies and mares going a mile on the grass. If it stays on the green and if so or not we will go with No. 5 Aunt Emma. No. 7 Holly and the Ivy and No. 9 Wunderbar. 5-7-9

No. 4 Danger Lurking is sitting on the maiden breaker, today. Could be the day back to back. No. 5 T.K.Fortysix gets his second start off the layoff and he will be coming with a big late run. No. 7 Bird Colonel made a nice late run in his first try going long. No. 8 Bi Tomorrow will be right with Danger Lurking from the bell. 4-5-7-8

Race 8

In today’s feature we have fillies and mares going a mile on the grass. If it stays on the grass we will go with No. 1 Marmaris who won her last race in her first try going long on the grass. No. 6 Mollie O is very consistent on either turf or the main. We will use her on either if it comes off or stays on the green. No. 8 Igotnosixes also can go on either. 1 (turf only) -6-8 on either.
