No. 3 Sassy Brunette gets her first shot going long and may like this dirt course, No. 8 Diamond Flush just did miss at 3/2 going 1 1/16 at Hollywood in her last start and is the one to beat if she can duplicate that effort on the dirt. No. 9 Supercilious drops into a maiden claimer for the first time and gets off the grass. 3-8-9

In I this straight maiden race for 3yo trainer Bob Baffert sends out three but we will try and beat him with the workout horse No. 9 Rosengold with Gomez riding for Julio Canani. 9

THE GRADE 3 SHAM STAKES

This is the start of the 3yo campaign on the West Coast as they weed out the Kentucky Derby prospects. No. 2 Goldencents has been working a hole in the wind here at Santa Anita and he is fresh off his wire-to-wire win in the Delta Jackpot and he ran a solid second on the Belmont dirt in the Grade 1 Champagne behind the undefeated Shanghai Bobby. No. 1 Den’s Legacy will try and run him down. 1-2

3yo maiden fillies going a flat mile on the grass, No. 2 Magnificent Shirl is from Gulfstream Park via Saratoga and moves for the barn of Chad Brown to the barn of Jerry Hollendorfer, we say she gets the job done in this tough race. 2

No. 4 Buds Pal is in good form and has a win over this dirt course, No. 8 Tummel won both of his starts here back in October. 4-8

Race 6

No. 4 Lamm has hit the board here in eight of his nine turf routes but has no wins but gets Bejarano in this his first off the claim, No. 10 Hyades has hit the board in all three of his starts here with a win a second and a third. 4-10

Race 7

THE GRADE 2 SAN PASQUAL

If No. 5 John Scott has recovered from his big effort in the BC dirt mile he can win this from just off the pace, No. 6 Coil is one of four entered in here by Bob Baffert, he is the one we prefer. 5-6

Race 8

No. 5 Klisz exits our HTW list off a dominating win last time out going 6 furlongs on the Hollywood grass, he can handle the hike in class and this mile distance, No. 8 Vibrato Jazz will be right there late with Gomez getting the ride. No. 11 Power Foot has been facing much tougher and is the one to beat. 5-8-11**

Race 9

No. 4 Pumpkin Pie will be flying late, No. 6 Bull Rush will appreciate getting back to a sprint and he won in his only dirt sprint here back in October. No. 9 Scary Ride gets off the grass and drops into an action spot. 4-6-9

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 3 Wild Date exploded down the lane to win by nine in her last start here, she looks like an odds on winner. 3

Race 2

No. 1 Lucky to Stay Home was well bet in her one and only and will be much better today, No. 5 Perfect Nodouble drops back to a maiden claimer and gets back to sprinting as the blinkers go on. 1-5

Race 3

No. 2 Brokered ships in from Hollywood Park and will try and go long in this his second start, No. 3 Penny Maker also ships in looking for softer. 2-3

Race 4

No. 2 Compromising Txt will try and take them wire-to-wire, No. 5 Stefanelli woke up last time out. 2-5

Race 5

No. 3 Bila Shaka is looking for her third straight win here but will need to run with No. 4 Along for the Ride who will be pressing from the bell and that will set things up for stalker No. 5 Elizabeth A. 5

No. 3 Havanna Jack will find a very fast early pace to make his last run. 3

Race 7

The 5yo gelding No. 1 Siberain Laughter has never been in better form turf or main, No. 2 Mighty Marino has hit the board in all five of his lifetime starts. 1-2

Race 8

Trainer Jeff Bonde can pop with a first time starter and he sends out the firster No. 4 Fearless Force. 4

Race 9

No. 5 Incisive comes off the long layoff for trainer John Martin who has him spotted for the win. 5
