Race 1

Trainer Jeff Mullins has been ice cold at the meet and as of this writing has not won a race, he sends out first time starter No. 9 J J Be Chillin with Tyler Baze in the irons and this 3yo gelding has a very good 5 furlong drill for this on the 15th and finds little in this 30k maiden claimer going 5 1/2 furlongs, Baze will have him on or near the lead from the bell. 9

Race 2

We go down the hill in this high priced optional claimer and trainer Blake Heap don’t win many but sends out No. 2 Circa’sgoldengear who has a win and two seconds going down the hill from three starts, back classer No. 3 Gallant Son has been working with a purpose and will be making a late run. No. 4 Irish Art comes off the layoff for trainer Carla Gaines, this 5yo has won two of three going down the hill and gets Gomez today. No. 5 Great Mills broke slow in the BC turf sprint here last November and this will be a huge drop in class and there are no Mizdirections in this race, he is the one to beat so when all is said and done we will go with 4-5

Race 3

We get 10k claimers going 7 furlongs and on the surface no one can win this race so it calls for the all button and that is just what we will do in this 9 horse field before scratches. All

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer put in a big 7 furlong work into No. 9 Top Kisser on the 11th and this 4yo filly will get the good turf jockey Lulien Leparoux in the irons for her first try on the grass and going long and she also exits our HTW list. 5-6-9

Race 5

Now we get 3yo maiden fillies going 5 1/2 furlongs, trainer Jose Flores had first time starter No. 2 Devine Sucess in steady works at Los Al and must think so much of her that he brings her here for this very tough race but that 6 furlong gate move here on December 31st signals that this girl may be a runner and her dam Mysterious Angel ( Saint Ballado) has dropped two winners from two starters and both with stakes winners. Jockey Bejarano rides first time starter No. 8 Indygo F M A off a good work here on the 14th and trainer Peter Eurton has gotten hot and when he gets hot he gets hot. 2-8

Race 9

We finish the Santa Anita card with 4yo $12,500 claimers going 6 1/2 furlongs, it is very interesting that Gomez sticks around and rides for the low profile trainer George Papaprodromou on No. 3 Muchos Besos who drops in class but owns a win over the course, No. 6 Smoken Legacy also drops in class and will be making a late run. 3-6
