It’s a new month and the first race so what better way to start it off then with a bet on No. 1 Dice Flavor who exits our HTW list off a rousing win going long on the grass. No. 3 Parisian Prince was tossed to the wolves last year at Del Mar in his first start in the states and will go better in this spot. 1-2

Race 2

Trainer Michael Pender wheels back No. 2 R Doubleday in just seven days off the win. No. 3 Hout Bay and No. 5 Warren’s Goldie both drop into action spots. 2-3-5

Race 3

Baffert says the gig is up on No. 5 Patriot’s Voyage as he drops this once highly regarded horse into a 25k claimer hoping someone bites. No. 6 Sun’s Out also gets the give up sign as he is dropped into a claimer for the first time as does No. 7 Three Vases? 5-6-7

Race 4

No. 2 Scofield Barracks gets his second start at this 8k level but had a very good last work. No. 7 Vaundell has his claiming price hacked in half but Bejarano sticks. No. 10 Max Cooper gets back to a sprint in his first off the Vann Belvoir claim and the hot riding Espinoza gets the leg up. 2-7-10

Race 5

No. 2 Belonging just failed to get up in her first try going long on the grass. She will be very hard to beat today albeit at a short price. We will single in the picks. 2**

Race 6

No. 3 Master Chef loves this track with four wins and a second from five starts. No. 7 Island Sunset gets his second start since moving into the Peter Miller barn. Look for a better run this time around. Mike Mitchell drops No. 8 Mucho Dorado into a very good spot. He will be coming late. 3-7-8

Race 7

Maldonado will send No. 2 Birdlover and will try to wire this group of fillies going a mile on the grass. The hot training Julio Canani sends out No. 5 Secret Motive who ran a better than looked race last time out. No. 9 Pussycat Lips is the filly to beat if she can draw in from the also list. 2-5-9

Race 8

Second time starter No. 2 She’s Actceptional will like the extra half furlong in this race. Espinoza ride first time starter No. 9 Secret of Success for trainer Carla Gaines. This filly looks very live. Jockey Casandra Branick just missed with No. 13 Tiz Lovely in her one and only ride so far in her career. She was having a hard time staying on that day. 2-9-13

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 1 Southfield Fog is the speed on the rail and gets Baze. No. 2 Gambling Miss loses Baze to the Fog but gets the very capable Couton and a better price. 1-2

Race 2

No. 5 Stormy Sierra is the best of the fillies that have run. No. 6 Top Babe is the live first time starter. 5-6

Race 3

No. 2 Evan Alrighty exits our HTW list and will take some beating in this race. 2

Race 4

Trainer Steve Sherman looks to have a solid one two punch in here with comebacker No. 1 Congress Woman Ivy who has won six of her nine starts here and No. 2 Elizabeth A first off the claim. 1-2

Race 5

No. 5 Soul de Naskra will like going long for the first time in this his second start. No. 8 Cane Seeker ran a good second in his first after being shipped in. 5-8

Race 6

No. 1 Panda Bai is a hanger but has a shot at this level. No. 2 Thurlow just missed at this level last time out and now gets an extra ½ a furlong. 1-2

Race 7

No. 1 Brokered looked good winning last time out when shipped in by Craig Dollase and may be able to handle the move up in class. No. 5 Greeley Awesome ships in from Santa Anita looking for his third straight win. Baze and Morey hook up with No. 7 Rush In. 1-5-7

Race 8

No. 2 Street Rocket comes to town and lands in the barn of John Martin and that is a good sign. No. 4 Simply Sharp will be part of the early pace and may get the jump on them turning for home. 2-4
