No. 2 In the Stars has hit the board in all three of her starts going a mile on the grass here at Santa Anita, if No. 3 Byrony can run back to her race here on Jan 19th when she finished second a head in front of In the Stars she can win and those last two works says she will. No. 4 I Dazzle is the stablemate of Byrony and she will be making a late run. 2-3-4

No. 2 National continues his hot hand as he won his third straight here and now has been claimed in three of his last four starts, No. 4 Afleet Cowboy is on a win every other race pattern and this is his win race and he owns a win here at this 7 furlong distance. 2-4

No. 5 Funny Belle gets back to her best game going a mile on the grass, No. 4 Secret Cove gets the big drop in class for a sharp jockey and trainer combo. 4-5

No. 7 Dramatic Allan finds a soft group of 50k maiden claimers for this, his first start, he looks live at what will be a fair price. 7

No. 1 Say Ow exits our HTW list off a big effort in his first try going long on the grass, he lost by a dwindling half length when forced six wide down the lane, Gomez gets the call today and this one looks to be a solid single with some solid works since that last race, Baffert sends No. 4 Unbridled Giant long in this his third start, he will improve. No. 6 Aleander is the stablemate of the Giant and he gets his first taste of the grass. 1-4-6

No. 4 Italian Rules is one tough 8yo who gets his first start off the 40k Bill Spawr claim, No. 1 American Act just did not like the wet fast track last time out, he will go better today on a fast dry strip. No. 2 Haverhill is in from Florida and lands a top jock and a top barn. 1-2-4

Race 9

No. 1 In a Wine Tizzy is unlucky to still be a maiden, he has finished second in both of his mile turf starts, No. 5 Jaco Red had his prep and looks set to go long on the grass and the price will be a good one. No. 7 Real Heat has run back-to-back good turf races here and Bejarano stays for the last race. No. 11 Warren’s Nicholas gets back on the grass and will be making a big late run at a good price, he is the long shot play.

No. 4 Xcuse Me Monto is in top form and is the filly to beat first off the claim, No. 5 Hard Hearted Lady will be right there. 4-5

This is scheduled to go 1 1/16 on the grass and if it stays on the green No. 2 Our Heat who is now in the barn of Steve Sherman finds a real good spot for win number two, No. 7 Pacific Coast won in her only start on the grass. 2-7

Race 3

No. 1 Havoc has won both of his starts here, No. 3 Rush In who is the stablemate of Havoc gets turned back to a sprint. No. 4 Massimo has done little wrong in his three lifetime races and will be the likely chalk.

This race is listed to go a mile on the grass and if it stays No. 1 King Budrick’s only win came in his only start on the grass and it was at a mile here on this course, No. 4 Cee’s the Bet will take to the grass and is out of a hot barn. 1-4

Race 5

The slight drop in class could get No. 3 Flying Lelin the maiden breaker today, No. 8 Maracuja is a live first time starter. 3-8

THE 50K GOLDEN POPPY 1 1/16 ON THE GRASS

Jockey Kevin Krigger ships in for trainer Neil Drysdale to ride No. 5 Vamo a Galupiar, No. 8 Halo Dolly loves this course and will be right there from the bell. No. 11 Going for a Spin will be sitting chilly and making one move at the top of the lane. 5-8-11

No. 3 Classic Crusader will try and shift out of second today, No. 7 Royal Stormer is in tip top form at this level. 3-7

Race 8

This maiden race for 3yo fillies is listed to go 1 1/16 on the grass so if it stays on the green No. 3 Harlan’s Sweetie may take to the grass with Dennis Carr getting the leg up, No. 4 Another Flashback has had her shots but she may also take to the grass. No. 5 Taffeta Disaster comes off the layoff, she is bred to love the grass and could pop at a price. No. 7 Defenderoffreedom has been running some nice even races and could wake up in this her first turf try. No. 8 Hard Buns ships in from Santa Anita off our HTW list, she is live in this wide open race. No. 9 Unseen Visitor just missed going a mile on the Santa Anita grass back in February and now lands in the Sherman barn. No. 10 Topic also ships in from Santa Anita for Neil Drysdale as the race gets deeper if it stays on the grass. 3-4-5-7-8-9-10

No. 2 Deputy Secretary looked good breaking his maiden in his first start when circling with a four wide run and drawing away down the lane. 2
