As always at Del Mar the first race starts right in front of the stands and the crowd will be on their feet waving and screaming, what a great sight and such a wonderful place to be, Del Mar opening day! In this first race Joel Rosario is in town and will ride No. 1 Casa de Cambio who lands in the barn of Peter Miller, he will find a ton of early speed to set up his late run. 1

Peter Miller has another live runner in here with No. 2 This One’s for Mel, Gomez gets the call and this 3yo gelding will be hard to run down if able to clear early, Miller also sends out No. 5 Keep Movin’ first off the claim, he will be the one that will try and run Mel down. 2-5

Race 3

Joe Talamo who blew a five win lead for the jockey title at Hollywood getting blanked the last week of the meet will re-ride with vengeance the speedy No. 4 Wink and Wish, No. 7 Say Say looks to win her third straight race and she has a work over the track, Irving Orozco who is sitting on a big meet will stay on board. 4-7

Race 4

We need to go four deep in this leg of the players pick five using No. 1 Ivanho who just missed on the Hollywood turf course last out with Stevens riding him for the first time, he will be back today, No. 4 Cyclometer will be out winging it on the front end with Mike Smith. No. 6 Dreamcatcher broke his maiden here almost a year to the day at this 1-1/16 turf distance and Rosario gets the call today. No. 7 Gab Power has won two of three here at Del Mar. 1-4-6-7

Race 5

In the last leg of the players pick five we will take our shot and single No. 2 Cause Ur My Babe, this 2yo filly has been well bet in her two starts and trainer Mike Puype looks to continue were he left off at Hollywood on closing day, look for her to wake up with the change to the ocean air. 2

As usual on opening day at Del Mar we get split divisions of the 100k Oceanside Stakes, in this the first division No. 2 Gervinho gets his second start off the layoff and second since his good effort in the BC Juvenile turf, No. 5 Undrafted is in town for trainer Wesley Ward, this 3yo gelding is two for two on the grass. 2-5

Race 7

No. 5 Peacenik has his claiming price hacked in half, No. 6 Royal Meridian won both of his starts here last year and also gets a big drop in class. No. 8 Legal Separation drops in class off the Sadler claim, he gets off the grass and Rosario says he will ride. 5-6-8

Race 8

No. 1 Preacher’s Bluff showed some early speed in his one and only start at Santa Anita last December and may be live in this soft spot, No. 5 Love de Car is a live first time starter for Jeff Mullins. 1-5

Race 9

We need to go four deep in the this the second division of the Oceanside using No. 2 Gabriel Charles who won in his only turf start and it was the BC Juvenile turf sprint, No. 4 Den’s Legacy won the Grade 3 Generous going this mile turf distance. No. 6 Si Sage is a very live French import who has raced eleven times over the pond, No. 10 Rising Legend gets his second start in the states after finishing second by a half length behind Den’s Legacy last year, Sadler has him ready to fire. 2-4-6-10

We will go stag in the last race of the late pick four using No. 6 Big Macher a first time starter for trainer Peter Miller with Rosario sticking around to ride, he is out of the dam Insight (Kris S.) who has dropped five winners from five starters. 6

No. 5 All About Adam who is 5-1 on the morning line is a solid bet in this spot, he gets back to 5 furlongs and has won at this distance the last three times he was sent 5 furlongs. 5

No. 4 A Thousand Aces ships in and gets the big drop, No. 7 Good to Be King and his stablemate No. 9 Arch Your Back are the two main players. 4-7-9

No. 4 Worldly Lad won in his only start here, No. 5 Melanzana gets Baze back. No. 8 Luckwiththeladies comes off a nice win at Pleasanton. 4-5-8

Race 7

No. 1 New Haven Line is the speed on the rail, No. 8 Ramble on Rose always gives her best. 1-8

Race 8

No. 2 Sandor is an old class 7yo gelding who is a real pro, No. 6 Pepnic is the price play. 2-6

No. 6 Charming Topper will be odds on in here, we can’t play on or against. PASS
