SANTA ANITA

Race 1

You know as a long time horse player sometimes I really feel bad for trainer Jack Van Berg, here is a guy in the hall of fame and now he can’t buy a win with the few that he runs, but in this ugly 16k claimer he has a shot with No. 3 Town Belle with the hustling Fernando Perez getting the mount, we will take our shot and hope that the fat man gets his win at the meet. 3

Race 2

This race is just about as ugly as the first race for Southern California. No. 1 Blue Collar Boy at least gets the rail and has some good early speed. He could get brave if left alone on the front end but No. 3 Sarangani will be right on his tail from the bell. 1-3

Race 3

We get maiden fillies and mares going a mile on the grass. No. 1 Cravin’ the Heat was flying late going down the hill last time out and now goes long for the first time. No. 7 Coconut Cream Pie gets back on the grass where she ran second for four straight races, maybe Santa Anita will be the answer. 1-7

Race 4

No. 6 King Maya drops trying to cash and will be a short price with not much to beat. No. 7 Masochistic is a first time starter that could pop at a price if Maya is not all there. 6-7

Double

3rd 1-7

4th 6-7

Race 5

We will use three out of the same race; No. 1 Navarre who was sent off as the 8/5 chalk and did not pick up his feet, No. 3 Maxx the Giant who never got out of the gate and the one to beat No. 7 Valtari who ran big in his first try going long on the grass. 1-3-7**

Key exacta box 7 with 1-3 and box 1-3-7

Race 6

No. 1 Frenemy continues his drop down the class ladder still searching for his correct level, he may need a trip up North. No. 6 Afflication moves back to the main after a failed attempt on the grass. No. 7 Bobby Flay ran ok in his first try on this circuit, he could cook them today. 1-6-7

Race 7

No. 1 Quiet Force exits our HTW list as a $$$$$ play. No. 6 Spring Up exits the same race, a race in which the winner came back to score in a stakes race this past Sunday. 1-6

Exacta box 1-6 and win and place 1

Race 8

No. 4 Broker Brett won’t find and easier 20k maiden claimer in Southern Cal than this one, it is now or maybe head North. 4

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 3 Beat by Far lost her rider last time out but has a bullet work since, she broke her maiden here and looks the one to beat. 3

Race 2

No. 2 Lil Barbie Doodle is the speed and will try and hold off No. 1 Brite Judy who will be running at her late. 1-2

Exacta box 1-2

Race 3

No. 1 Rollin’ Fever gets a little drop and that may be all she needs with this group. 1

Race 4

No. 1 Roxie Hart gets a stronger rider in this her second shot at going a mile, she will get a great rail trip. No. 3 Wild Ruler ran a good second last time out when dropped to this level. 1-3

Race 5

No. 1 Primal Desire is in tip top form. No. 3 Star Vesta looks to have found a wake up spot, she will be part of the early pace. No. 6 English Puddin ships in looking for an easier circuit. 1-5-6

Race 6

No. 1 Good to Be King won in his only start here. No. 3 Kevinator has big early speed and has hit the board in all six of his starts. No. 7 Smoking G will be making a big late run at the speed. 1-3-7

Race 7

We need to go four deep in this very wide open mile turf race starting with No. 1 Global Warming who has been hanging but looks to be coming around. No. 4 Unusual Class who is in from Hollywood and gets her second start and first going long she is bred for the trip and the surface. No. 5 Lakota Road is a filly sired by the great turf miler War Chant, she gets her first shot at the green. No. 6 Gotta Love Her has finished second in all three of her starts including two going long on the grass. 1-4-5-6

Race 8

No. 6 Valid Sale won at first asking as a 2yo last year when sent off as the even money favorite, she went away after that race and now comes back in a very good spot. 6

Double

7th 1-4-5-6

8th 6
