SANTA ANITA

Race 1

We start Breeders’ Cup Friday with a downhill sprint. Jockey Luis Saez comes to town and gets the feel of things on No. 6 Yankee Rebel. Bejarano who was on Yankee Rebel last time ops for No. 8 Pure Loyalty who gets a turn back in distance and a big drop in class. No. 11 U S Citizen lost by a neck on this course in his last race and gets a great post. 6-8-11

Race 2

This 7 furlong race is, to say the least, wide open. We will try and narrow it down to three using No. 2 Got Even who gets Rosario and we know what he did the last time he was here, No. 6 Door’s Open is 3-for-3 here at Santa Anita but none were at this 7 furlong distance. No. 13 Wild Dude will be sitting chilly and could find himself in a good spot turning for home. 2-6-13

Race 3

THE 200K GOLDEN STATE JUVENILE

No. 1 California Chrome is on a good every other race win pattern and this is his win race. No. 2 Life Is a Joy is in from up North for Jerry Hollendorfer where he won all three of his starts. No. 7 Tamarando is the stablemate of Life is a Joy and the colt to beat. 1-2-7

Race 4

THE 200K GOLDEN STATE JUVENILE FILLIE

No. 7 Whatsallthedrama is back with statebreds as Hollendorfer attempts to sweep both ends. No. 9 Moving Desert gets Gary Stevens riding for the low profile Blake Heap, very interesting. No. 10 Swiss Lake Yodeler is the other Hollendorfer in the race and is listed at 12-1 on the morning line. 7-9-10

Race 5

THE 150K GRADE 2 TWILIGHT DERBY

Just another very wide open race on BC Friday. No. 3 Den’s Legacy has a big work for this and looks on edge for a huge run. No. 7 Kid Dreams is a hard knocker for trainer Neil Drysdale who uses jockey Ryan Moore who is in for some big BC races. No. 12 Gabriel Charles is in top form with big day Mike Smith riding. This players pick five will pay huge! 3-7-12

BREEDERS’ CUP RACES

Race 6

THE 500K BREEDERS CUP MARATHON AT 1-3/4

Sometimes you just gotta take a stand and that is just what we will do in this race with No. 2 Cease (8/1). David Jacobson claimed this 6yo gelding for 100k and that isn’t chicken feed for a gelding! He just won with him going 7 furlongs at Belmont, he did just miss going a 1¼ at Churchill Downs last year so we know he can get the distance, Jacobson is too smart to be coming here for the fun of it. 2

WIN AND PLACE 2

Race 7

THE 1 MILLION BC JUVENILE TURF

We will take another stand and go with the two Aiden O’Brien runners No. 2 Giovanni Boldini a War Front filly in from Ireland. He won both of his starts on a firm turf course and finished third in his other start on a good turf course. No. 9 Wilshire Boulevard is well traveled for a 2yo as he was in Ireland and then to Great Britain and from there to Longchamp France, he is a battle hardened. 2-9

Exacta box 2-9 and win and place 9

Double 6th 2

7th 2-9

Race 8

THE 1 MILLION BC DIRT MILE

No. 2 Golden Ticket gets Rosario back and has big early speed that will play well on this dirt course and at 12/1 with Rosario we must use. No. 5 Fed Biz has won 3 of his 6 starts here and is 3-for-5 at this mile distance. He showed he could come off the pace last time out and has a big work on October 27th that has him on go. No. 11 Pants On Fire is a real pro with eight wins three seconds and four thirds from 22 lifetime starts. He has won four of his seven starts at this distance and Paco Lopez knows him well.

2-5-11

Race 9

THE 1 MILLION BC JUVENILE FILLIES TURF

We will step out in this race and take a shot at some prices to spice things up in the late pick four, using No. 9 Dancing House at 20-1 with big race Mike Smith getting the call for Kiaran McLaughlin who looks serious with this filly. No. 12 Testa Rossi (8/1) for Chad Brown. This filly just exploded in the stretch to get the win when holding on by a nose going 1-1/16 on the Belmont turf. That was her fourth straight win and first in the country since arriving from France, this mile distance will be perfect for her. No. 14 My Conquestadory won both of her starts, trainer Mark Casse looks to have a good one here and we will get a higher price than that 9/2 morning line. 9-10-12

Race 10

THE 2 MILLION BC DISTAFF

This is the smallest field in all the BC races as we get six, but the six are a huge big six and anyone could pull off the win. We will go with No. 5 Beholder who owns this course winning five of her six starts with a second in between and she has the great Richard Mandella 7 furlong work of 1:24.2 on October 22nd and the 0:49.1 work on October 28 six days later that says she is as ready as can be for this biggest and toughest race of her career. The connections of No. 6 Princess of Sylmar put up 100k to get her into the race, she is a monster in the making and comes off a convincing win over the 5yo Royal Delta who won this race last year. 5-6

PICK FOUR

7TH 2-9

8TH 2-5-11

9TH 9-10-12

10TH 5-6

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

Trainer Lloyd Mason is due to heat up and he sends out two in this race and as we are looking for a price we will use them both as price plays. No. 5 Mystorynmstikntoit and No. 7 Go Wheeler Go. 5-7

Exacta box 5-7 and win on both.

Race 2

No. 1 Shadow Ball is rested and ready to roll. No. 7 Kama Su comes here off a huge win first out of the box at the fair and the fair horses have been doing real well here. 1-7

Double

1st 5-7

2nd 1-7

Race 3

No. 6 City Chapel is very consistent and finds a good spot. 6

Race 4

Baze gets back on No. 4 Lota Spunk who he won with on race back, bet him to cash. 4

Race 5

No. 2 Unstoppablesteve is sitting on the win and may get it with Baze getting the call for Martin. No. 7 Captain Rodney is a very live first time starter for trainer Steve Sherman who hits at 28% with his first time starters. 2-7

Pick three

3rd 6

4th 4

5th 2-7

Race 6

This mile turf race is as ugly as they come. The best we can come up with are No. 1 Elusive Journey and No. 7 Bornatthetrack, both are in from Santa Anita. 1-7

Race 7

No. 5 Dancing Yodeler looks the winner in here with this crew albeit at a very short price. The one that has a shot at the upset is No. 9 Jerry’s Fever who is back in town from Turf Paradise. 5-9

Race 8

No. 7 Rush In had his race and looks set for the stretch back out on the grass and we may get a fair price. 7

Win and place 7

Race 9

No. 5 Cabbage is in from Santa Anita looking for easier and she has found a soft spot. No. 8 Gale Creek looks live at first asking off that sharp 4 furlong work. 5-8

Pick three

7th 5-9

8th 7

9th 5-8
