Race 1

We get another lousy race to start the day as five maiden 3yo fillies will try and go a flat mile and Bob Baffert has two of them. We will try and beat the Baffert duo with No. 2 Artemis, an Empire Maker filly who will lover this longer distance. 2

Race 2

No. 3 Let’s Get Crackin’s last win came here back in September. He has been here working ever since and has some top notch works for this. No. 5 Rolling Fog won his first two starts as a 2yo at Del Mar back in September of 2012 and then something went wrong. He worked 6 furlongs in 1:11.1 here on December 23rd. 3-5

1st 2

2nd 3-5

Race 3

No. 3 Stoney Fleece is a re-claim by trainer John Sadler. He lost him for 40k and claimed him right back for the same price next race out, we think a sharp trainer like Sadler must know what he’s got. 3

Race 4

Lots of early zip in this mile race so we will go with No. 6 Just Dancing a dropper who will sit chilly off the hot pace and make won run down the lane. 6

Race 5

We will use two exiting the same race, No. 1 Copper Bay who get the renewed Tyler Baze on his P Val comeback tour and No. 5 Ransom Canyon who is sitting on a win. 1-5

Race 6

No. 2 Tosheen runs them all alike, he will be on right off the lead and try and get the jump on them down the lane. No. 4 Papa Smitty is the stablemate of Tosheen and he may actually get the jump in this race. 2-4

Race 7

And down the hill they go. No. 3 Llandudno is a perfect 2-for-2 going down the hill and the price will be right with the low profile Saul Arias getting the call. No. 6 Miss Lucky Sevens just missed going down the hill back in October. No. 9 Blues and Silvers ran right behind Sevens that day. 3-6-9

Exacta box 3-6-9

Race 8

We finish out this lousy card with a 30k maiden race going 5½ furlongs. No. 5 Fulmerized lost at .50 cents on the dollar in his last start and now gets another drop. He will be out there winging it on the front end. No. 10 Sams Blue Cat will fall into a good tracking position and try and run him down. 5-10

7th 3-6-9

8th 5-10

Race 1

No. 2 Growin Up may just be doing that as he ran his best race last time out. No. 5 Peter the Pistol is a live first time starter for Jeff Bonde. 2-5

Race 2

No. 1 Flying Gwen is in top form and will get a perfect rail trip. No. 5 My Gal Candy lost to Gwen by ¾ of a length last time out. No. 6 Esperanza Latina will be the one to fear late. 1-5-6

1st 2-5

2nd 1-5-6

Race 3

No. 4 The Sunol Grade is a first time starter loaded with bullets. No. 5 Win Machine hasn’t been running to his name but gets his second try at this level. No. 6 Splendini exits our HTW list, he gets a move up after getting beat by a neck in start number 1. 4-5-6

Exacta box 4-5-6 and win and place 6

Race 4

This mile turf race is very competitive and we will need to go four deep using No. 2 Top Tizzy the speed, No. 4 Esprit de Corps who gets back on the grass, No. 6 Lucky Moment the big dropper who also gets back on the grass and No. 7 Fearless Cat who gets her first start off the John Martin claim. 2-4-6-7

Race 5

No. 1 Preacher’s Bluff gets back to the distance and level of his near miss. No. 5 Philosophic won in his first try here and may stand the hike in class. 1-5

Race 6

Now how can you not bet a horse with the name of No. 3 Shesacurlinmytoes a 3yo Curlin filly who gets the stretchout on the grass. 3

Race 7

Only 7 races again today and we end the day with a race that looks like a cold two horse race with No. 5 Rosewhitenblue who has got into great form and No. 8 Run Sophia Run who has never been off the board here in her four starts, she was a neck behind Rose last time out. 5-8

Exacta box 5-8

Pick four

4th 2-4-6-7

5th 1-5

6th 3

7th 5-8
