We start this big day with 8 3yo Cal Bred maidens going 6½ furlongs on the dirt and three of the eight are first time starters. No. 1 Well Measured is out of the barn of Peter Miller and this 3yo gelding has been working lights out and is out of the dam Miss Thirtyfour who has dropped 3 winners from 3 starters. No. 4 Nooten woke up big time in his last start when moving back to the dirt and getting Mike Smith, he gets an extra ½ a furlong to set up his late run. No. 6 Next Book exits our HTW list off a troubled but huge effort losing by a head in a 30k maiden claimer with open company. 1-4-6

No. 6 Gab Power exits our HTW list as a $$$ play. No. 3 Christopher Street owns a win over the course when Mike Smith rode him and low and behold Mike is back on today and this gelding is a stablemate of Gab  Power. 3-6

Race 3

No. 5 Seeking Asylum gets his first start off the 50k Hollendorfer claim and Jerry wants a quick return on his investment as he puts Bejarano in the irons. No. 7 Head South deadheated for second with Seeking Asylum and is the speed. 5-7

THE 200K GRADE 2 SATNA MONICA

No. 2 Teddy’s Promise won this race last year and has won 5 of her 10 starts on this course and her last work was a pip. No. 4 Heir Kitty just won the Grade 1 LaBrea stakes at this 7 furlong distance, she is in top form. 2-4

Down the hill they go in the Sunshine Million filly and turf sprint. Jockey Kent Desmormeaux is in town and wants to stay here, he gets on No. 11 Ciao Bella Luna for Peter Miller and he will be giving his best. Pedroza who rode Bella last time out will stay on No. 2 Journey On who has never been worst then second in three turf races. 2-11

Race 6

No. 7 Sea John’s Spirit is a 6yo mare still looking for the maiden breaker, her best race came on this course. No. 8 Tickle Again will try the dirt for the first time and it may be the answer for this 6yo mare. After these two it’s a toss up! 7-8

THE 200K CAL CUP

They go a flat mile on the grass in the Cal Cup. No. 6 Princess Genevieve won like a good thing in her second start on the grass when going this mile distance, she may be this good. No. 14 Anniversary Kitty looked great when breaking her maiden at first asking going 6 furlongs on the Hollywood grass and she may be this good if she can get the trip from this far outside post. 6-14

THE CAL CUP SPRINT

No. 5 Mobilized will get the right pace to make his late run. No. 6 Cyclometer will get the jump on the closers and hope to hold them off. 5-6

Race 9

THE 250K CAL CUP CLASSIC 1-1/8 ON THE GRASS

No. 1 Summer Hit will try and take them wire-to-wire and if no one goes with him he will! We will take out shot and single in the picks. 1

Race 10

THE 250K CAL CUP DERBY GOING 1-1/16

3yo go long in the Cal Cup Derby. No. 4 Tamarando is the proven one in here but has just 2 thirds over this dirt track and is a deep closer. No. 6 Aotearoa gets Stevens in a big race. 4-6

Race 1

Jockey Agapito Delgadillo is in town and he gets a feel of the course on No. 1 Another Victoria who gets her second try here and second at this level. 1

Race 2

No. 3 Salah Champ gets his first start off the claim and will find a hot pace up front to make his last run. No. 4 Funny How is 2-for-2 on this course. 3-4

Race 3

No. 4 Tsarina Haven will show all of her speed on the drop. No. 5 Crush On You looks to be sitting on a win as does No. 7 Zip It Jennie. 4-5-7

Race 4

No. 1 Beast of Bourbon comes off a solid try in his last start here and now his main jock gets back on. No. 5 Code of Conduct ran right behind the Beast last time out when caught wide. No. 6 Shaun Washington gets a confident boast back up in class off the huge win. 1-5-6

Race 5

No. 2 Red Danger drops back to the level of his last win as does No. 3 Heir to money. 2-3

Race 6

No. 1 Kazam may like the turn back in distance. No. 2 Cast in Silver is a live first time starter and the stablemate of Kazam. No. 8 Chati’s On Top ran huge at first asking when let go at 37-1 just missing by a head. 1-2-8

Race 7

No. 1 Rosewhitenblue is in top form and will be making her usual late run at the speed. No. 5 Vinoterra won here at first asking and then went to Hastings Park and faced some good ones there. No. 6 Dear Lilly looked good when breaking her maiden in her first start and fits with these. No. 7 So So Fast is the one to beat if ready off the 11 months on the shelf. 1-6-7

Race 8

No. 9 Life a Riley ships north and will find a good pace to make his late run and this is the race Delgadillo came in for. 9

Race 9

No. 1 Tiz Right Now drops trying to cash. No. 6 Perfectly Styled is the only first time starter in a very soft field of 8k maiden claimers. No. 7 Silver n’Brass has run two races that would beat these. 1-6-7
