Down the hill they go. No. 2 Rangi just did get caught at the wire in his last start going down the hill after squandering a four length lead. No. 4 Brokered ran a better than looked 4th when going 6 furlongs on the Hollywood grass, he will be in a good stalking spot. No. 6 Presenceofagenius has run back to back good races on the grass and is a fit. 2-4-6

Maiden 3yo go 7 furlongs on the dirt. No. 2 Footstepsinbronze exits our HTW list off a huge effort first out going down the hill. The $410k purchase No. 3 Superlooper had a tough trip in his first start and will go better today. No. 4 The Admiral is the stablemate of looper and this distance will be perfect for  him.

THE 75K SWEETLIFE GOING DOWN THE HILL

No. 1 Sprague River had a six wide trip in her last start going a mile, she finished up better than looked and this move back to a turf sprint makes her very tough. No. 2 On the Backstreets won off the layoff on this course and is the stablemate of River. No. 4 Famous Alice was 7/5 against On the Backstreets last time out and she will try and turn the tables after finishing second behind the filly. 1-2-4

THE GRADE 2 SANTA MARIA

No. 2 Fiftyshadesofhay has really burned some cash in last four races and will be short again. Her stablemate No. 3 Ondine gets big race Mike Smith in the irons. No. 5 Let Faith Arise has been working a hole in the wind for Hollendorfer. 2-3-5

No. 5 Itsabeautifulday showed good early speed when dropped into a 40k maiden claimer in her last start and now moves down again to 20k and gets a turn back to a sprint. No. 7 Teacher Teacher follows the her down the ladder. No. 9 Kid Rollins ran her best race when dropped to this level last time out and now gets Tyler Baze riding for Tom Proctor, hmmmm. 5-7-9**

Race 1

No. 2 Katy’s Plum ships in gets a top jock and a drop in class. No. 4 Mum’s Kee drops into a $12,500 maiden claimer from straight maidens. No. 5 Alicia Memory’s ran huge first out at 5/2 and when on the shelf, she comes back today in the same spot. No. 6 Chilcotin almost got there in her first start on this circuit missing by a half length. 2-4-5-6

Race 2

No. 1 Mandala was flying late with a five wide run in his last here at this distance and level, he will get a better set up today. The once highly regarded No. 5 Nina’s Dragon comes off the layoff sporting bullet works. 1-5

Race 3

Trainer Kruljac sends out two in this 8k maiden claimer: No. 2 I Didn’t Cheat and first time starter No. 7 Takit Witha Grain, we will use both. 2-7

Race 4

Aaron Gryder is in town to ride in the 10 point Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby and he picks up No. 1 Flying Gwen who drops in class. Her stablemate No. 3 Lindz Winz is the one to beat on the big move up in class.

No. 2 Anytime Magic drops to his lowest level and he was close with better in his last three starts. No. 8 Localsucess will be making a late run at the tiring speed. 2-8

First time starter No. 2 Swing for Defense has been working out at Santa Anita and his trainer Craig Dollase who has won with 3 of his 7 starters here shipped him in. Gryder gets on the Santa Anita shipper No. 3 On Draft who makes his first start on a synthetic surface after three straight grass races. No. 4 Smiley Eagle gets his second start here after shipping in for Hollendorfer and he gets Baze. No. 7 Time Jumper may have won his last start but he jumped tracks and finished a close third. 2-3-4-7

Race 7

No. 1 What’s for Dinner has been claimed four straight times winning 3 of the 4. No. 5 Pepper Crown has hit the board in all five of his lifetime starts. No. 6 Mr. Make Believe just missed catching Dinner last time out and now gets Gryder. No. 9 Apollo Ten and No. 10 Tenkiller Kid both ship in for good barns in what has come up a very tough race. 1-5-6-9-10

Race 8

THE 200K EL CAMINO REAL DERBY

The winner will get an important 10 points on his road to the Kentucky Derby. The very consistent No. 4 Tamarando ships in for Hollendorfer and gets his main man. Gary Stevens will ride No. 5 Enterprising for Tom Proctor, nuff said. 4-5
