Race 1

We start this guessing game on this new dirt course as this will be the first time any of these have ever run on this type of dirt. Bob Baffert who is sitting on a huge meet with a loaded stable sends out No. 4 Madam Aamoura who ran a good third on the grass going this mile distance in the $100k Juvenile Turf at Del Mar, she exits our HTW list as a $$$ play. No. 5 Redshirt ran a nice 4th in her second start on the poly at Del Mar, she has a real nice 5 furlong work over the course on the 22nd, these are the two we like. 4-5

Race 2

Lots of early speed in this 6 furlong sprint. No. 2 Gal Has to Like It gets his first start off the Hollendorfer claim and gets Van Dyke, he will need to sit right off the hot pace today. No. 3 Peacenik will do just that and he will wake up big time with the move back to conventional dirt as will No. 5 Jovita’s Tuffy.

Race 3

Maiden 2yo fillies go 6.5 furlongs. Baffert sends out his wife’s filly No. 6 Flat Footed Mama off a solid second at Del Mar, she also exits our HTW list. No. 9 Tatum’s Gold has the experience with four starts, she finished second in three of those and may like it here and Bejarano gets a rare ride for Steve Miyadi.

Race 4

Down the hill they go. No. 4 Intoxicating Move owns two wins going down the hill. No. 7 As Rulers Go ran a much better then looked 4th going down the hill in her last start despite big trouble, she took some time off and looks set for a big run with Brice Blanc getting the call for Neil Drysdale. 4-7

Race 5

The players pick five ends with $20k maiden claimers going 6.5 furlongs on the new dirt course. No. 1 Expo and Fig is the main speed and gets a little drop in class, his best race was on the dirt. No. 14 Unusual Don comes off the layoff for Ted West, he gets the hot riding Fernando Perez and a drop in class, he could wake up as a 3yo. 1-14

Players pick five

1st 4-5

2nd 2-3-5

3rd 6-9

4th 4-7

5th 1-14

Race 6

No. 6 Natal has some good early speed and is wheeled back in just six days by O’Neill. No. 9 Betty Bing Bing hated the poly at Del Mar, back on dirt will be the answer. 6-9

Race 7

No. 7 Shun gets his first start of the O’Neill claim, Van Dyke gets on and he goes a mile on the grass. We think the claim was to get this gelding on grass. Bejarano gets on the dropped No. 8 Jomelo who is looking for his correct level on this circuit and this could be it. No. 9 Dysprosium will be part of the early pace and he could get brave if left alone on the front end. 7-8-9

Race 8

No. 4 Indianapolis was one of the pre Kentucky Derby favorites after his huge win in the San Pedro at .60 cents on the dollar, he had some setbacks but his works say he is on go. No. 6 Alberts Hope ran some big races as a 2yo, he will be making a late run. 4-6

Race 9

The last race will be the feature today as we go down the hill in the Grade III Eddie D and why not take a shot with No. 1 Eddie’s First who broke his maiden going down the hill and his name is perfect to finish first in the Eddie D. Trainer Steve Asmussen sends out No. 6 Unbridled’s Note who has won 3 times going down the hill including the Grade III Daytona. No. 8 Ambitious Brew is a perfect 3-for-3 down the hill.
