Race 1

No. 6 Hurricane Lake exits our HTW list off a near miss while very wide the entire trip going this same 1-1/16 distance. He gets his first start off the Jeff Bonde claim and has found a very soft group of $25k claimers in this small six horse field. 6

Race 2

No. 1 Desert Dynamo is a first time starter with some good workouts here. He is out of the dam Competition who has dropped 3 winners from her 3 starters and this barn can win first out of the box. No. 3 Stand and Salute was sent off at 3/2 in his first start at Santa Rosa in a little $50k stakes race, he was a solid second after battling down the lane. No. 4 Iancol is the stablemate of Stand and Salute and Mike Smith rides for Hollendorfer. 1-3-4

Race 3

This 5-1/2 furlong sprint is just loaded with early speed. No. 1 Cloudy River has proven he can handle a pace battle and his two dirt races at Los Al were very good, he had his number put up last out and looks to be ready for the repeat win. We will single in the pick five. 1

Race 4

No. 4 Stoney Fleece drops in class and gets the good grass rider Brice Blanc, he will be rolling late. No. 5 Sizzlin’ Joe has a good work for this and gets Elvis who is due to heat up. No. 7 Press Baron looks to be getting better and it’s a good sign that Bejarano sticks. 4-5-7

Race 5

No. 3 Simon Kenton comes off the layoff, he took some action in his first start when losing to The Admiral who came back to win next out, that last 7 furlong work says this one is on go. No. 4 Alfa Bird exits our HTW list, he has been working a hole in the wind, look for him to try and wire this field. No. 5 He’s a Bling also has good early speed and he gets Mike Smith today riding for Tom Proctor. 3-4-5

Race 6

No. 3 Mal Verde just worked 7 furlongs in 1:24.2, and that has him on edge. No. 7 Unusually Green has hit the board in all three of his turf starts here, he has been working well for this. No. 9 Lucky J Lane may be this good. 3-7-9

Race 7

No. 4 Spectacular Proof lost at .90 cents on the dollar in her last start at Los Al, she drops in class after just missing in that race and will be short again. No. 8 Denotation drops into a maiden claimer for the first time and that will move her forward. No. 9 Barbs Angel looks like the one to fear late. 4-8-9

Race 8

No. 9 Toowindytohaulrox finds a field loaded with early speed, he is the only closer in the race and the drop in class should get him home on top. 9

Race 9

The go down the hill in the feature. No. 6 Heat Trap won going down the hill and just missed going down the hill when 3rd by a neck in her two tries, she is very consistent. No. 11 Velvet Mesquite has won 4 of 5 going down the hill, she gets a great post for this and Mike Smith gets the leg up today. 6-11

Race 10

The day ends with a $30k maiden claimer for 2yo fillies going 5-1/2 furlongs. We have 12 2yo fillies and 2 on he also list, to say this is one tough race is an understatement. The plungers will be hitting the all button but we need to take a stab, since we really don’t like any of the ones that have run we will opt for a first time starter. No. 6 Council Bet is out of the dam Timely Bet who has dropped 11 winners from 12 starters including a stakes winner, she has four works over the track. No. 10 Classy Schiller is by the good sire Arte Schiller and she beds down in a good barn. No. 11 Forest Trees looks very sneaky with Elvis riding for Peter Miller. 6-10-11

9th 6-11

10th 6-10-11
