THE BELMONT STAKES

Race 11

No. 5 American Pharoah takes his shot at stardom if he can win this race and the way he has been training this is his race to win or lose. Todd Pletcher sends out two runners No. 8 Materiality and No. 3 Madefromlucky the winner of the Peter Pan stakes here and last year’s winner exited the Peter Pan. Pletcher may know that his only shot is for Materiality to take on American Pharoah early and not let him get an easy lead. That strategy may not work and if he does take him on early that could set up No. 6 Frosted the big gray or the sneaky looking No. 1 Mubtaahij. Mubtaahij gets the leading jockey here at Big Sandy Irad Ortiz Jr and that is a huge plus. 5 with 1-3-6-8 will be the main bet in a trifecta and super and we will use the five second on one ticket just in case.

SANTA ANITA

Race 1

No. 1 Saint Dermot just missed last time out going a mile and now gets an extra 1/2 a furlong. No. 3 Derby Glass exits the same race and today he gets Bejarano. No. 6 Northern Iowa also exits the race and he finished a nice closing 4th and has a bullet last work. 1-3-6

Group Meeting who has dropped 3 winners from 3 starters. 2-3-5

Race 3

Maidens go 6 furlongs, No. 5 Mr. Pucci was well bet in his one start, he showed speed but was pressed all the way but still held well for third, he has a real good work since. No. 7 Look Twice is a first time starter out of the dam Unique Creek who has dropped 5 winners from 5 starters and he has a nice 5 furlong work for his debut. 5-7

Race 4

Race 7

$12,500 fillies and mares go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 5 Prettypreciousheir just broke her maiden wire-to-wire and looks spotted perfectly. No. 10 Magna Rex gets Flavien Prat and will get his first taste of the grass for a hot barn. No. 12 Proud Captive ran good in his one start down the hill and the mile may be perfect for him. No. 11 Passinaflash will be making a late run. 7-10-11-12

Race 9

No. 7 Lets Get Frisky gets back to 7 furlongs the distance of her near miss two races back, we will take our shot with here and hope she is real frisky today. 7
