Race 1

We get yet another five horse field to kick off a Saturday pick five. No. 1 Oil is the speed and if he clears with no pressure he will be gone. No. 2 Hot Lightning is very competitive and will be stalking Oil from the bell. Bejarano who was on Hot Lightning the last two times gets on the closer No. 5 Ain’t Misbehavin first off the $50k Mike Puype claim and it’s a huge jockey switch. 1-2-5

Race 2

$50k maiden claimers go six furlongs. Unless one of the first time starters can roll early No. 1 Hye I’m Jack will be on the front end and he gets Bejarano today. No. 4 Carulli exits our HTW list as a $$$ play, he gets his first start off the Richard Baltas claim. No. 6 Ladies Man gets his first start off the Cerin claim and that looks like the race. 1-4-6

Race 3

No. 3 Public Policy may find himself on the front end today, if so he could get very brave with Martin Garcia getting the leg up for Sadler. No. 4 Flat Gone exits the same race as Public Policy and he gets a big rider upgrade as Baltas puts his go to jock up. No. 6 Buckleberry Grey exits out HTW list off an easy win first off the layoff, he will be making a late run. 3-4-6

Race 4

Cal breds go down the hill. No. 5 Know Plans gets back sprinting and if he gets the pace upfront he will be flying late and could get there. No. 8 Pay the Fine look good breaking his maiden going down the hill last out as did No. 9 Moussed Up. No. 10 Field Report gets back on the grass and that last work says wow!

Race 5

No. 2 Perdona exits our HTW list off a horrible start in her first try, we look for better today at a price. No. 5 Explicable exits out HTW list as a $$$$$ play and her last work says she is on go. 2-5

Race 6

Lots of early zip in this 6 furlong sprint for 3yo $12,500 claimers who have never won two races so we will go looking for some closers. No. 7 Molten Image has the ability to sit off the pace and he gets a drop in class. Hess claimed No. 2 Midnight City for $30k and now drops him in for $12,500 all is not well but he fits the bill. No. 11 Momma Tried drops to a better level and can make a late run at them. 2-7-11

Race 7

3yo go a flat mile on the grass in the $75k Singletary. No. 5 Zinvor gets back to a flat mile and he is 2 for 2 on the grass at this mile distance. Gary Stevens sticks with No. 6 Soul Driver who moved too quickly in the Pasadena last out. Gary got to know him and will sit longer today. 5-6

Race 8

No. 2 Sheer Pleasure was stretched out on the dirt last out in the $200k Melair and she blasted home winning by more than seven lengths. No. 8 Scat Means Go comes here from Churchill Downs and draws the service of Gary Stevens. No. 9 Stellar Wind won the Grade I Santa Anita Oaks and then tried the Grade I Kentucky Oaks but could only finish 4th, she is the one to beat. 2-8-9

Race 9

No. 7 Sir Cal finished a solid second here last out at this mile turf distance. No. 9 Los Gatos is on the improve and finished right behind Sir Cal in that race. 7-9

Pick four

6th 2-7-11

7th 5-6

8th 2-8-9

9th 7-9
