LOS ALAMITOS TB
We start the 4th of July off at Los Al with 2yo maiden fillies with a lot of more maiden races to follow. In here trainer Jeff Bonde who does will with 2yo sends out first time starter No. 2 My Dynamo who is out of the dam Dyna Da Wyna who has dropped 5 winners from 5 starters including a stakes winner. Jockey David Flores gets a rare ride for Bob Baffert on first time starter No. 3 Wish I Understood, we know he will be giving it his all. No. 5 Cuyathy is out of the dam Dance Darling who has dropped 4 winners from 4 starters and she also dropped a stakes winner and this filly has some nice works. Jockey Martin Garcia who you would expect to be on the Baffert 2yo ride first time starter No. 6 Surfside Tiara for Hollendorfer, this filly is stabled here and has been working great over the course. 2-3-5-6
No. 5 Warrensdollarsigns gets a double drop in class and will find a fast early pace, she could get up with Maldo getting the call. No. 8 Awe Gee gets some class relief and finds a good wake up spot. 5-8
2yo maidens go 5 furlongs, No. 3 Passau is in from Belmont Park where he met some tough cookies going this distance on the grass. He took some action that day so expect much better today. Trainer John Brocklebank does super with his maiden 2yo and he sends out first time starter No. 5 Quantum Force and Joe Talamo gets the call and that last work says he is on go. Doug O’Neill who has two entered in here, the one we prefer is first time starter No. 7 Navy Hymn off that very nice 4 furlong gate move on the 26th of June. 3-5-7
In here we get $40k maiden fillies and mares going 5-1/2 furlongs, not much to go on in this group. No. 1 Express Checkout is what we would like to do in here, he went down the hill in his first start at Santa Anita vs. much better, Maldo will have him running early today. No. 3 Avo exits the same race and these will be the two we will be using. 1-3
No. 1 Turnover comes off the layoff for Baffert and he ran good in all three of his starts last year and has back to back bullet works for this, we will be singling. 1
More maiden 2yo going 5 furlongs, No. 4 Xingontothebone has finished 3rd in three straight races the last in the Santa Anita Juvenile. No. 5 Bully Pulpit ran ok in his one and only start and will move forward. No. 8 Tribal Roar is a first timer for Brocklebank. No. 10 Tiz Love showed some early speed in his first start and will be out there winging it today. 4-5-8-10
It just keeps getting uglier as now we get $20k maiden fillies and mares gong a flat mile. No. 3 Mucho Blessings just missed going a mile at Golden Gate on the synthetic surface and now gets her first try on conventional dirt. No. 9 Goose Bumps goes long in this his third start for trainer Miller, she gets blinkers on, she is very live. 3-9
THE GRADE II $350K LOS ALAMITOS DERBY
No. 2 Gimme Da Lute who is fresh off his win in the Grade III Affirmed comes into this ready to run another big race. No. 5 Prospect Park finished just a 1/2 length behind him in the Affirmed. Mike Smith rides No. 4 Kentuckian who is very highly regarded by Hollendorfer. 2-4-5
$12,500 fillies and mares that have never won two races. If No. 1 Haaay Sexy Lady can run back to her maiden win she has a shot. Maldo gets back on dropper No. 3 Yawannagokid who will be running late. No. 9 Beyond Lucky will try and outrun them on the front end. 1-3-9
