We start a big 10-race Sunday card with 25k fillies and mares going 6-1/2 furlongs and this looks like a good spot for shipper No. 7 Gucci Brown who is proven on dirt and eligible for the ship and win bonus, jockey James Graham knows this filly well as he has ridden her three times and was on for the maiden breaker, No. 8 Sweet Profit drops and looks the main danger. 7-8

Race 2

They go five furlongs on the grass in race two and Bejarano gets back on No. 1 Codacious and the one time he rode this filly she won by seven lengths, she should handle the green, Bill Morey brings in No. 2 Summer Wine from Golden Gate who won first out of the box there at this five furlong turf distance going away with ease. No. 4 Desert Steel has gone down the hill at Santa Anita two times and both were decent efforts. 1-2-4

Race 3

The last time No. 3 Sheza Eyeopener ran for this $12,500 price tag she got the win, No. 5 Toomanytomatoes gets off the grass and drops in class and can handle the dirt. 3-5

Race 4

20k maidens sprint 5-1/2 furlongs, No. 1 Ladies Man drops back to his claimed price and this looks to be his level, No. 7 War Destiny drops from straight maidens and will show all of his early speed today at this level. No. 8 Inexcess Again showed very good early speed in his one start with 50k company. No. 10 Noble Hawk ran ok when dropped to this level last out and now gets a big break in the weights with the bug boy Pena getting the call, he exits the same race as No. 11 Papa’s Playboy who just missed by a half length. 7-8-10-11

Race 5

In this mile turf race Kent D and Hess hook up with No. 8 Perfectly Majestic who can sit back and make one big run down the lane, he comes off a big win going down the hill, No. 11 Son of War will be launching from far back and picking up the pieces late as will No. 12 Husband’s Folly. 8-11-12

Race 6

Maiden 2yo fillies go five furlongs, trainer Peter Miller sends out two runners No. 1 Scarlet Emerald with Bejarano and No. 3 Mining Diamonds who is out of the dam Love and Marry who has dropped 6 winners from 6 starters, Hollendorfer sends out two runners No. 4 C. C. Zipp with Mike Smith riding and No. 5 Imflatoutsweet with Prat. No. 6 Dreamy Art is by sire Tiz the One who has won with almost 40% of his first time runners and is out of the dam Swingtime Music who has dropped 7 winners from 8 starters. Baffert sends out No. 7 Pretty N Cool for his buddy Mike Pegram, he has a super last work and we will side with the Pretty and Cool one. 7

Race 7

No. 1 Yiannis gets some class relief and is the speed of the speed, No. 4 Cherubim is in top form and worked a bullet here on the 13th, he will be sitting off the hop pace and making his run down the lane. No. 6 Turnover came off the layoff for Baffert and won for fun at .50 cents on the dollar, he will be right on the tail of Yiannis. 1-4-6

Race 8


No. 5 Prize Exhibit just won the Grade III Senorita at Santa Anita launching from the back, she will be using those same tactics today, No. 7 Her Emmynency has never run a bad race and won the Surfer Girl at Santa Anita on the grass last year as a 2yo, she had her prep and looks ready to run a big race. 5-7

Race 9

No. 2 Secret Command exits our HTW list and gets his second start off the layoff, he won here last year in his second start, No. 5 Superboot is one of those Peter Miller live shippers. James Graham gets on No. 9 Public Policy for Sadler, he will be on or near the early pace and the drop to this level makes him very dangerous. 2-5-9

Race 10

Maidens go 1-1/16 on the grass and a tough way to end the late pick four, No. 5 Unusually Big exits our HTW list off a nose loss last out, No. 8 Second Summer just missed last year on this course, he comes off the layoff for Peter Eurton and gets Bejarano in the irons and has a big 7 furlong work for this. No. 11 Tirpitz ran ok going down the hill at Santa Anita and now gets the top turf jock Nakatani up. 5-8-11
